Dolph Lundgren has signed up for ‘In The Name of the King 2′.
The actor will take on the lead role in Uwe Boll’s movie, in which he will play a war veteran who is sucked back through time to battle sword-wielding bad guys.
‘The Expendables’ star told blogtalk radio: “I play an ex-middle ages war veteran who gets f**ked up but he gets pulled into some sort of medieval power struggle, kind of gets a bit of a redemption for all his pains in service. It’s a role I just wanted to play. It’s fun to exercise my acting chops once in a while. I’ve got to get ready for ‘Expendables 2′.”
Speaking about the plot – which is set in the kingdom of Ehb – director Boll said: “It’s like contemporary, right now big city, and we have Dolph Lundgren basically being a cop or like a fighting coordinator working as this, and one night he gets attacked by ninjas in his house and fell with the ninjas into a vortex back in time.
“And then it turns out it’s like 50 years after the first part ‘In the Name of the King’ ended, and Ehb is destroyed and everybody is dead, Jason Statham and everybody who was in the first part, got wiped out.
“They say he was basically sent into the future, he’s the son of Jason Statham, and he was sent into the future, brought up in an orphanage, because the parents felt that they would all die. So he is basically the last survivor of the kingdom of Ehb so he should bring the kingdom back in charge.”
‘In the Name of the King 2′ is set to start shooting early next year in Canada.

The quote in the first post is so very confusing. I had to re-read it and I still ask "What?" Is this a joke? It's not April ... are we in Alice's Wonderland where nothing makes sense? What in the world are they drinking in Hollywood to come up with these ideas!? Is anyone "sane" in charge out there?
Can we add Direct-to-bargain bin?
Despite being considered a bomb, Boll has begun work on a sequel. Production will begin next year for a 2011 release. Dolph Lundgren and Natassia Malthe are expected to star.

I couldn't sit through more than 15 minutes of the first one. I love Dolph and I've watched all his movies but this...
And this part of the quote is just headache inducing with how nonsensical it all is.
So he goes back in time to the future and becomes the son of a dead Jason Statham?

I don't know about this movie, but can we ship this guy and M Night off to a desert island in a boat so they both stop making movies?

So essentially they're inverting Dolph's Masters of the Universe, except now Dolph is in the Courtney Cox role.

So everyone in the Statham version got "wiped out" except for his son apparently, who somehow ends up in the future but ultimately goes back in time to when he belongs. Yeah, this is confusing as fuck.
