Re: Megamind
Found it mostly boring - a few good jokes here and there but pretty bad pacing and lazy storytelling. Typical Dreamworks stuff (by typical I mean in the vein of Monsters Vs. Aliens or Madagascar - not HTTYD or KFP).

Watched this with the wife and kids. Great movie. Not sure why all the negative reviews here. Plot was a twist on the usual animated movie. Plenty of LOL moments. One of the best of it's type in a while IMHO.

I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't nearly as good as Toy Story 3 or How to Train Your Dragon but better than Despicable Me and the Owls of Ga'Hoole.

Re: Megamind
Saw this last night, and was not impressed. A 15 minute story padded out to a 90 minute film. Will Ferrel had some amusing lines, but that can only go so far without a script. Unlike Despicable Me, won't be seeing this one again.

Re: Megamind
as for the movie, despite the numerous negative reviews I didn't actually mind it, mind you 'Despicable Me' was definately the better of the two.
I thought one of the film's major flaws was that there really wasn't much humour. And surprisingly not alot of Metro Man. The soundmix also seemed muted and subdued - odd for an IMAX movie. The 3D though was really cool, notably when ever the characters were flying or dangling off of really high sky scrapers, I have a fear of heights and the 3D really conveyed it ... too well.

I'm glad some of you guys enjoyed it.
I'd say that out of all the movies I've worked on, it's probably the most fun I've ever had doing an animated film.
The super-hero genre fits me to a tee, and I had a great time with the director (from Madagascar 1 and 2, and the Ren and Stimpy Show), and supervising animator kept things really fresh and exciting.
A truly, truly unforgettable experience.

Re: Megamind
I just saw it tonight. I had no plans on even watching this film ever. I only went because my 5-year old son wanted to see it. And surprisingly, it was pretty awesome. Good touching story! And the 3D was very good! I don't understand why this would get negative reviews. I think I liked this more than The Incredibles....

Re: Megamind
And you did a good job on Over the Hedge as well, another underrated CGI-animated film.

Woo-hoo!
Thanks, Toddly! I'm glad you enjoyed it (as well as Roxanne's "assets"!)
I'm an animator, so that means I made the characters move and act....
I worked on the scenes where:
- Megamind interrogates Roxie at the beginning and threatens her with scary stuff
- Megamind calls Metroman on the giant viewscreen
- Megamind talks to the Metroman statue (holding a bouquet of flowers)
- some Bernard and Roxanne stuff
- Megamind at the restaurant
And other various scenes....
Fun project! Thanks man for supporting the movie!

I thought the most moving scene was when Megamind and Roxanne right after the reveal at the restaurant where they talk in the rain - I thought that was the one scene where I really felt for the characters and felt the interaction and true feelings Megamind had for Roxanne.

Re: Megamind
Saw this with the extended family over the weekend and we all loved it. Cant wait to add this to the Blu collection. I really liked the use of 80's rock throught the film.

I liked this movie, and I too dont get the negative reviews here. Megamind was 10 times more enjoyable than Despicable me. It doesnt come close to How to Train your Dragon, but still quite enjoyable

Re: Megamind
I thought Despicable was a huge let down. I wasn't expecting much from Megamind but was pleasantly surprised.
