Just saw this again. I agree with the above. Twice in the movie Leo spins the talisman and it wobbles and falls. If the whole movie was a dream then the end shot would have been pointless as the talisman did not work.

I got a chance (finally!) to see this last night. Totally lived up to the hype. Nolan got an A list cast and the visual FX in that were so well integrated into the film, it felt very real. Very similar to Zodiac, which I was stunned to find out had it after watching the bonus features.
The other aspect of the film I really liked is how wide open the ending is. There are so many different possible interpretations, it will keep you guessing. I have always liked films of that nature.
Cannot wait for the eventual Blu-Ray release (fingers crossed for Maximum Movie Mode).

I really like this, but it seems too simple. Didn't he say that no one can touch your totem because then it will be compromised? If that's the case, the only person still around who could recreate the faces of his children, compromise his totem, so to speak, would be his father.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010)- The Reviews Thread
I just watched the movie again and something bothered me. When the hotel room is spinning while Levitt is fighting projections, shouldn't everyone who's asleep also be flying all over the place, likely tearing the lines out of their arms, interrupting the shared dream?
Could Nolan really have overlooked this plot hole or do you think he just chose to ignore it because the hallway scene was too neat not to have in the film?

It's still playing at a couple theaters around here, one being an AMC (not a dollar theater). I saw it a second time with someone who missed it back in July. I'm looking forward to the BD.

Who cares how he saw it? This is movie discussion, not a witch hunt.
But yes and no, the dreams are effected by a shift in gravity, there is no actual shift in gravity in the third level after the initial hitting of the rails because it gets absorbed in the second level and they're floating for a majority of that meaning their bodies can't tell the difference in the third.

As for my question, you miss understood, Not "why aren't they effected on the third level", why aren't their unconscious bodies on the second level thrown around the room like Levitt's body was thrown around the hallway? Afterall, their bodies were floating when there was no gravity in the hotel. It doesn't show their bodies while the van is rolling, so you don't really think about it.

I have to agree with your first statement. I suppose if I were so inclined, a quick search shows there is a DVD rip floating around the internet, but sitting at a computer screen doesn't make for a very good date. Plus I prefer watching my movies on a big screen.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010)- The Reviews Thread
I have to say the hallway scene is cool enough to make me overlook the fairly obvious plot hole. I mean, yeah, they could have shown everyone being tied down or something, but all it would have done was brought attention to the ridiculousness of it all. They were better off just ignoring it. This was, after all, the only problem I noticed, and with a movie this complicated, there could have easily been a lot of inconsistencies.

Could not connect to any of the characters. Cobb seemed a bit demented.
His risking the teams lifes just so he could see the children again didnt help.
I've enjoyed episodes of Dexter more.
Reminded me of the movie "The 13th floor". Now THAT had a soul
JCL was pretty darn good. He would do well as an action star (spiderman?)

Yeah, awesome.
I'd like to see a version that compares:
- City & Hotel
- Hotel and Snow
- Snow and Subconscious
All separately... because as each section is added in the above video, it gets harder and harder to pay attention to the finer details.

What an excellent f'n film - I loved it even if I still don't get every little piece of it. Sure you can't really connect to any of the characters involved but.....I thought that was the point?? I loved not knowing what everyone was all about.
Also
Nolan is a pimp, I didn't really like Memento too much and for some reason I was thinking this flick would mock it a lot but it didn't (and thank god we didn't get another insomnia - I really hated the film....just as much whenever I hear any Eagles song playing......yes, that's a lot of hate).
I actually started playing this again right away after the first watch through - didn't even realize that was his wife in the beginning getting into Leo's scheme because he couldn't shake his projections - well, I did realize but just forgot.
