Dont forget my girl Dina Meyer. I just want to see her and Shue in 3-D. Piranha destruction will just be an added bonus.

So, at $79.2M, is Prince Of Persia likely to get a sequel?
What's sad is, had they played it staright, this could have been done good (if not spectacular) business and been another good western. Sadly, this is what we got.

Agreed. Ive never read any Hex comics, but there was a 3-4 page preview in the back of DC comics last week, and it was better than all the trailers ive seen. More dark and gritty.

But with that poor a domestic showing, I dont think it would be worth it for Disney to fund one...
Both Robin Hood and Prince of Persia are to looking to end up with about 350 million worldwide gross each in the end...

I read in some trade that Universal claims ROBIN HOOD needs to gross $300 million worldwide to be profitable. It's $5million shy at this point. Regardless, with that kind of miniscule ROI I don't think we're gonna see Robin Hood 2 anytime soon.

Don't worry, I'm sure there'll be a reboot in 10 years.

The weekend actuals are in.
Toy Story ended up with $110.3 mil. A-Team made $14.4 mil and dropped 43.9%. Looks like word of mouth is pretty good. Too bad it opened lower than expected. The worldwide gross is now $84 million ($50 mil in the US).

I never thought of him as a leading man. Sure he has had a couple of leads but he is a secondary actor to the lead. He can't be blamed for this mess and doubt it will affect his lead status at all.

Yeah, it won't kill his career.
Plus he's in True Grit by The Coens...so I think he'll do fine. And for some reason I thought Wall Street 2 already came out but it hasn't yet.

It's not surprising that Warners might want to make some changes or shoot additional scenes, since Brolin previously stated that the script for "Jonah Hex" is "awful," but wanted a challenge of doing "the most awful movie I can find" if he could get the right people to join him.
That "awful" script was written by "Crank" filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Briant Taylor, who were initially on board not only to adapt the comic book, but also direct. Brolin eventually stepped in, replacing them with Hayward.

Neveldine/Taylor are a mixed bag. I love what they did with the Crank franchise, especially with making the sequel just borderline retarded frantic and insane; but I thought Gamer was just a boring mess. Granted, I'm sure we would've seen a darker, intense and probably better version of Jonah Hex if the two remained on board. However, the final product is what it is.
I mentioned on my Twitter that I originally purchased two tickets to Jonah Hex as part of a Fandango B1G1, but instead had the theater refund me at the last minute and just give me two vouchers to come back at another time. My girlfriend and I are okay with waiting to see this at the dollar theater in a week or two. I may actually do the same for the tickets for Grown Ups I purchased during the deal*.
*I originally purchased tickets for The A-Team, Jonah Hex, Knight and Day, and Grown Ups for the B1G1 deal from Fandango. Made it to The A-Team (liked it), got them refunded for Jonah Hex at the last minute, and will be seeing Knight and Day this weekend.
