I thought his best performance was in Fearless. Course I enjoyed him in Tron and can't wait for the sequeal.

Y'all really need to see yourselves some THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT, easily Michael Cimino's best film and one of Bridges' best performances. Eastwood ain't bad in it, either. Plus a trailer-ful of great redneck character actors: Gary Busey, Geoffrey Lewis, Bill McKinney, Burton Gilliam, Dub Taylor, Gregory Walcott, and Roy Jenson, not to mention Daisy Duke herself, Catherine Bach. Plus: non-rednecks George Kennedy and Vic Tayback.

Other Jeff Bridges films that should be on that list: HALLS OF ANGER (in which he's paired with pre-Meathead Rob Reiner as a couple of white kids bussed to a black school in L.A.), Robert Benton's BAD COMPANY, John Huston's FAT CITY, and Frank Perry's RANCHO DELUXE. The early '70s: what a great time to be making movies.

If you consider his performance in a vacuum and disregard the legitimate criticisms of the film, it was worthy of regard. I still would not put it up at the top of the list though.

Knowing full well Lebowski would dominate the poll I chose Fearless. I prefer that performance anyway.

I do have a soft spot for Starman. It was my introduction to Jeff Bridges.

Fearless. One of my top ten favorite movies.

Your title says "Favorite" role and that goes to The Big Lebowski. His best acting role goes to Starman, though I have not seen this Crazy Heart movie.

I liked him in both Against All Odds and The Last American Hero (not a poll option).

Hmmm, I had no idea how much I like Jeff Bridges. I guess he's just one of those actors you see all of the time and take for granted.

I voted for Starman.

Why isn't "Hyundai Commercials" a poll option?

Absolutely. Add on THE LAST PICTURE SHOW and STAY HUNGRY, and we're talking about a great run of work in the early 70's by Mr. Bridges. He has long been one of my favorite actors from that era - and easily the most under appreciated. It will be great to see him finally win that Oscar, as I assume he will this year.

Wasn't Bridges nominated on Thunderbolt and Lightfoot?

The Fisher King is one of my favorite movies for the amazing roles by both Bridges and Williams. It gets my vote.

Voted for The Big Lebowski, but I really did like him as Preston Tucker. He was also in a great scene with Andy Garcia in 8 Million Ways to Die.

Lots of cussing in this clip, so head's up.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ogYlwmDtsSo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ogYlwmDtsSo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

That movie is almost like the prequel to the Big Lebowski, with him being a detective who's a major alcoholic.

Yeah, I've seen it. The remake is crap (not even touching the ending) compared to the original but I'm a Bridges fan and that was my main reason for seeing it.
