I resent the way the Perfect Storm showed the crew drowning. We all know they were washed away to a mysterious island where they started a group called the Dharma Initiative.
If I was Jack, I would have told Rose how much I loved her given her a big kiss and then threw off that thing to save myself.

Watching Titanic on HBO. I was very excited for the "Pulled a Murdoch" scene and kept hyping it up through the movie. For some reason my girlfriend just didn't understand.

I decry the unfair portrayal of a sailor whose only mistake was to sink the Titanic and kill 1500 people (give or take).

I pulled a Mordoch the other day in the shower. Does it still count if you shot 3 times? or is it only 2? technically he killed over 1500...

I pulled a Murloc the other day near Goldshire. Yadda yadda yadda the genital cuff gets removed on Thursday.

In the middle of a Facebook conversation I decried James Cameron's mistreatment of First Officer William Murdoch. Nobody got the reference, so I pulled a Murdoch on them, and am now posting from beyond the grave.

There was so much debris floating around. And large chunks from what I recall. I never understood why he didn't try for any of it. I guess he was afraid the chick would want to get married if he survived. His male fear of commitment kicked in and he chose to die instead.

Plus this was 1912, and people weren't as smart then as they are now.

There may be some acknowledgement by James Cameron of the character assassination of First Officer William Murdoch.
I don't know if it's enough to bring Buttmunker back... but if you're using your phone while driving, it's certainly time enough to die.
One bit of conjecture that Cameron feels hasn’t aged as well in the film is his treatment of one of the real-life stories that played out on the Titanic. In the movie, the director depicts the ship’s first officer, William McMaster Murdoch, shooting a passenger and then committing suicide in the midst of the evacuation, a dramatic choice that upset one of Murdoch’s descendants. “That still remains controversial,” Cameron admits. “I suppose I took a creative liberty with that particular character, who wasn’t a character — he was a person and had living descendants at the time the film was released. I think it’s important to remember that this was relatively recent history, and there are still people affected by it.” Cameron adds that he shot additional scenes featuring real-life Titanic passengers that he wound up cutting from the film in order to keep the focus on the Jack and Rose’s romance. “I think with the Titanic community, there’s a sense that I told this frivolous love story; unfortunately, that’s not the way the moviegoing audience looks at it. I was riding a lot of information in on the backs of a love story that got people to show up.”
