Re: Source Code - New Duncan Jones film
Both Lupoff and Heap were co-writers for the TV movie. It was directed by Jack Sholder (The Hidden). Total running time is 92 minutes (two hour TV movie minus commercials).
The TV film expanded the story and based it on a repeating day rather than a repeating hour, added some humor but still was mostly a Sci-Fi thriller. In my opinion it is far superior to Groundhog Day which I think is way overrated. It's one of my all-time favorite TV movies.

Oh yeah, and I loved Source Code.

I love that TV movie!!
I saw it on tv, and was surprised to later learn it wasnt a theatrical film. Very good story. I enjoyed it more than groundhog day.

I'm doubtful... mostly because almost from the get-go, aspects about the ending
Spoiler:
I had no problem with the ending (since I have found the other type to have been more prevalent for decades and therefore actually more cliched).
It tasted just fine to me.

I haven't ready any comments by any of you guys or anyone else, so I am not being influenced by anything or anyone, other than my just having seen the film. In short, this was one of the most satisfying movie watching experiences I have ever had in my life. I loved this movie, so much, through and through. It is easily my favorite film of the year, one my favorites in years, and after another watch or two it could end up as an all time favorite of mine.
I'd watch it again right now if someone here wanted to see it now. If you haven't seen it yet, get to it, it's fantastic.

I totally agree. What I loved so much about the ending is how it sorta makes you think it's going to end in a number of places. Each one in a way felt fine to me, but with each "new" ending I felt more and more satisfied, all the way up to the final line. Just perfect, haven't seen a more perfect satisfying ending in a long time.

And again, I 100% agree with that theory. I didn't even think otherwise when I saw the ending, that's exactly what I left the theater thinking. I think that is what they were obviously going for as well with all that they mentioned throughout the film.

Saw it. Nice movie that kept everything tight and sweet. I agree with the ending most accepted here :
While I really don't want a sequel , I think it's disheartening that this movie struggles while crud like Hop rakes in the $$$. I think today's generation of parents consider a movie a success if it keeps the kids quiet as opposed to whether or not it's actually any good, or, they might actually like it themselves.
Final point, brilliant "cameo" by

The problem with that is...studios got smart about their business. Parents used to take their kids to whatever was available. Kid centric or not, of which in comparison there was a little section dedicated to kids except for maybe Disney. NOW it's a whole damn section of the industry where if it looks like something will be fun for a kid...and if one kid thinks it's fun...they're pretty sure a bunch of other kids will think it's fun too. Quality is irrelevant, hell even the actors that do those movies can admit after the fact that it was a job for some quick and ez cash. The rarity of that is Pixar nowadays, who make films for everyone...but yes...kids are their main attraction..but they make damn good films.
What's sad is that I remember when I was a kid a lot of parents didn't take kids to the kid centric stuff unless it had the Disney banner over it. Even then it was a difficult sell if it wasn't animated. Now they seem to go no questions asked, like parents don't want to take time to nurture, just get em quiet.

Saw this last Monday and I liked it alot. Very tight well executed action/science fiction movie. I especially enjoyed that it was roughly 94 minutes and managed to tell a complete and satisfying story with a good conclusion. I thought the pacing of the movie was perfect and was never bored.BTW, Isn't Michelle Monaghan freaking adorable? I loved her scenes with Jake Gyllenhaal on the train.
