I remember reading Bay's remarks when The Island became his first flop, and it really seemed to upset him. This is a guy comfortable in his own skin to ignore being panned by the critics, but seems to really care what movie-going audiences think. It's hard to get a sense of disappointment from the public when a movie makes as much money as did Revenge of the Fallen. So, at the risk of cementing my status as a Bay apologist, I think it's pretty encouraging that he's even aware of the perceptions about the last movie. I, too, look forward to some robot-on-robot violence.
But, yeah, Bay cares about his fans. Keep in mind he's just a big kid playing with some really awesome (and expensive) toys. It's the kind of things all of us dreamed of when playing with our army men, G.I. Joes, Transformers, Thundercats, etc. So he does care (as nizarre as it seems) what his fellow "kids" think.

As for my Charge of the Light Brigade comment, that was inspired by a sequence that was intended to ocurr during the final action sequence of the '86 movie (where all the remaining G1 characters were meant to die) but the writers (although only one is credited) backed off at the last minute. |

No Twins, no yapping roommate, no Mrs. Witwicky getting high on pot brownies, no humping transformers automatically makes part 3 better than part 2. I'm assuming none of this will be in the film.
I still wished Bay would have found someone else to play Carly. That is one fugly 'model'. Actually, IMDB's trivia page mentions the Twins getting a re-design. Ugh. Hopefully they don't speak. |

Yeah, the Twins are back. There are pics of their new vehicle modes somewhere in this thread. I actually liked the Twins. Their antics were usually in the background or comments offscreen so they didn't feel intrusive to me. Now the humping dogs (the first time was actually funny in a random sort of way but the second time...) and humping robot were beyond stupid.
Yeah, Statham must be an abusive boyfriend. You can tell he's punched the girl more than once in the face. :( What would Lee Christmas think of himself? -ohbfrank- |

Goes right back to my disagreement with...I can't even remember who regarding Michelle Rodriguez. He said he would 100% NOT bang Michelle Rodriguez and I found that to be crazy because she might not be the hottest girl in the world but she's hot enough where she shouldn't automatically be disregarded because she's too ugly to have a one night stand with. So, that said, I agree with what you're saying.
However...I'm white, fatter than I used to be, I don't live in my mom's basement and I don't consider myself a fuck, but given the chance (which I'll never actually get, but we can pretend) I'd bang her for sure, but that doesn't mean I find her to be a great beauty. And when you compare her to Megan Fox...especially how she looks in the Transformers movies it's not even a contest. Does that mean I'd blow her off if she was all over me? Of course not, but in my little fantasy world if I got to choose between Megan Fox and this girl it wouldn't even really be a choice. And obviously this is all based on looks and what these two girls look like in movies and photo shoots when they're all done up as we have no idea what they're really like, but like you said, we're on the internet, so it's all about being superficial. But back to the original comment. She looks nothing like Megan Fox. |

His was a typical "chosen adventurer" story (to borrow from Cinescopes): guy screws up, guy redeems himself, guy becomes hero.
