One day, someone is going to make a serious drama/period piece (remember that episode where they got transported to Medieval times, which makes no sense since they were based in America, and they made gunpowder out of birdcrap for no reason? that was awesome!) about giant talking transforming vehicles and they'll finally earn the respect of audiences worldwide.

No, but giant talking robots is no excuse for making a shitty movie. Especially not with a Michael Bay-budget.

Maybe Sam (aka Spike from G1 Transformers) will transform into a Headmaster:

Exactly...I mean one would think you couldnt possibly fuck the formula up. Giant transforming robots that blow shit up, yet Bay with a monstrous budget was able to do that very thing.

That's very much a posibility. Especially since I doubt Bay's claims that this is the last film in the series.

Too be honest that's not a terribly engaging formula.

It'll reboot in 3 years with a new director (ie Uwe Bolle) and a "darker, more serious" theme... like Batman, Spiderman, etc.

As long as they keep giving him briefcases full of money, I'm sure he'll he'll find some "artistic" reason that compells him to come back.

^ Because that worked on Raimi so well? I honestly don't see Bay coming back for more.

It did. Sony just cancelled the fourth film in favor for a reboot. However, Raimi already had some ideas in mind for Spidey 4. Sure they sucked (Back Cat was gonna be Vulture's daughter and renamed Vultress) but he was all for making a fourth movie.

Anyhoo, here's a new video:

Serious Injury to Female Extra Suspends Chicago Shooting of TRANSFORMERS 3

Filming on Transformers 3 was suspended Thursday after a stunt gone awry reportedly resulted in the serious injury of a 24-year-old extra in East Chicago. The Michael Bay action sequel was shooting an elaborate car stunt on a closed highway when a cable connecting two cars snapped, whipped around and the car crashed. The woman inside the car, Gabriella Cedillo, wasn’t a member of the stunt team and was airlifted to the hospital. There’s no word yet on her condition.

Hit the jump for more details and some video footage of the accident scene.

According to a local ABC affiliate, who spoke to a fellow extra, when the wire snapped, it sliced through the car and through Cedillo’s head. The car then slammed into the divider on a stretch of Cline Avenue and didn’t stop for about half a mile.

Thursday was scheduled to be the final day of Chicago shooting on the film, in Millennium Park, but the day was canceled.

E! Online says that Paramount/Dreamworks has yet to comment on the accident.

Why was an extra involved in a stunt like this? Sounds like they had her doing something she shouldn't have been.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

It sounds like it wasn't stunt driving, just driving but that the cable snapped. Even if it was a stunt driver, they still would have been injured.

The crazy thing is the injury as apparently the cable sliced through the car and cut open her skull. She was still in critical condition though so hopefully she can make it.

Every story I've read on this incident calls it a "stunt"... an extra should have never been involved.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

Eh, it wasn't a stunt like weaving or driving through obstacles, there was a failure of the towing cables.

If they told her she was going to be in danger, I don't see how being a stunt driver or just an extra matters. Are we talking about compensation/insurance here?

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

It's not that it wasn't a stunt. It just seems the extra wasn't a part of the actual stunt but rather in a car, way in the background. The cable snapped and whipped in the direction of the car she was in.

At least that's how I understood it.

Could this be Michael Bay's John Landis moment?

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

I wouldn't call it that. I think this sounds like just what Rocshemp said. He didn't put the actress there, of course I'm running w/ what Roc has said, directly in any danger from what it sounds like. What John Landis did was fucking stupid of him.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

Tragic. Life ain't perfect. Hope everyone involved can move on from this.

Seriously, couldn't this happen in a better movie? I guess that it's good that they have a virtually unlimited budget and can give her top-notch care and compensation. But, really, all over Tranformers 3? If someone is going to deal with lifelong damge, this movie better blow my fucking mind. If it's a so-so turd, that would be truely tragic.

Wow it breaks my heart such a tragedy. And she's gorgeous too which makes it even sadder and she's young.

Yeah that was a pretty inane comment.
