Re: Fantastic Four - Reboot (2015, D: Trank)

Kate Mara is hot. They'll probably be adopted siblings. Considering the amount of secrecy and how long Trank has been attached to the fucking project, without him admitting that he was actually directing for who knows how long, I wouldn't be surprised that that would be the angle they're going for.

They don't want to show you anything but they're telling you everything. And vice versa.

Just based on the casting, it looks like they're going to have to drift even further from the comic than the prior two films did. In which case, my interest is drifting, as well.

Agreed.

Although a black Johnny Storm in the 616 Marvel Universe would be even dumber. So it wouldn't surprise me if Marvel actually went ahead and did this, ala Nick Fury JR in the 616 comics. They'll come up with some lame, convoluted story to make the FF in the comics more "diverse".

I just don't get it...

Maybe Jordan will pull a reverse-Lazarus.

Here you go:

People seem way to hung up about the different race thing and not hung up enough about how awful everything else about this project is. Michael B. Jordan is is the only thing about this movie giving me hope.

That's a good looking cast. But I'm just having a hard time seeing this work.

Marvel is admittedly trying to make the 616 comic universe more similar to the MCU, but they're not going to go out of their way to adopt anything from Sony or Fox's abortions.

I'm one of the few who actually like the other two movies a lot. From the looks of it, I won't be bothering with this one though.

The smartest man on Earth just turned 26 and looks like he should be doing a keg stand.

Such a shame, this project had so much promise before casting a black guy.

And alongside Kate Mara he looks like her younger brother, not a love interest.

They should just make this an episode of Community: Joel McHale as Reed, Alison Brie as Sue, Jonathan Banks as Ben, and Donald Glover as Johnny.

"Before the MCU" being the the key phrase there. When Marvel didn't have it's own studio, the licensed films were all they had, and yes, they did change things to make the comics more similar to the films from Sony, Fox, and others (I also remember the X-men getting black leather uniforms) in order to cater to that fan base.

Things are different now that they've got their own films that are doing big business. They're going to cater to their own business and not worry about what the other studios are doing.

There's something about the guy playing Reid Richards' face - I wanna punch it, really hard.

Re: Fantastic Four - Reboot (2015, D: Trank)

Miles Teller looks like a huge douche in that picture and way too young to be playing Reed Richards. The rest of the cast I'm fine with, I like Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara looks okay for the part of Sue. Jamie Bell as Grimm I don't love but he'll probably be The Thing most of the film anyways (unless they decide to find an excuse to let him transform or something lame so they can let the actor have more face time). Probably my biggest complaint about the whole cast is that they all look too young.

Ultimate FF is a younger FF though. Though it means another waste of half of the movie re-establishing their origins.

I'm out. I'm okay with Michael B. Jordan but I can't stand Kate Mara. She's a skinny troll. How many times will Fox fuck up the FF?

Amazing Spider-Man #2 comes out right before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is released in theaters and Electro looks more like the movie version now.
