Ever been alone in a theater?

Yesterday i went to see the movie funny people with my dad at a second run theater. Place was completely empty. I think that's only happened one other time. Movie was good so unfortunately we didn't get to rip into the film mst3k style But we still had a good time talking as loud as we wanted . Anyone else have the pleasure of being the only one in the theater or with a friend/family member?

Red Rock West, with a friend. I recall us moving around during the film a few times, goofing off.

I went with 2 friends to see 'Bringing on the Dead' or whatever that Scorcese movie was called, and it was us and 2 other people. It was the strangest movie theater experience I ever had!

Yes, I went to go see Blindness by myself on the last day of its run. I was the only one in the theater. Needless to say it was pretty creepy and cool.

I tried to see Basic Instinct as a kid (with a friend) and bought tickets for The Power of One. We waited in Basic Instinct for it to start, but were so early that they checked our tickets and made us go to The Power of One. We were the only ones in there.

Re: Ever been alone in a theater?

Everytime I expect to be alone in a theater, some random person wanders in and ruins it. I don't think I've ever been totally alone.

Re: Ever been alone in a theater?

I saw Spider-Man 3 (I know) on a Wednesday opening week and I was the only one there. Pretty strange for a big-budget movie on opening week.

Damn you! Everytime I walk into a theater, expecting to be alone there always this random person already in there!

Just to ruin his movie going experience in further, I sit right behind him. Take that!

The Abyss. Second run theater afternoon showing. I was the only one in the theatre. Seemed kind of creepy after awhile.

My friend and I were the only people in the theater for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie at a matinee on a Friday the second weekend it was out. Also ended up being the last man standing at a Tuesday evening showing of Be Kind Rewind opening week.

I wish I'd been the only one at my screening of THE ABYSS. In fact, I wish I hadn't been there! Horrible movie. We all kept waiting for the plot to kick in. And it never did!

Re: Ever been alone in a theater?

I went to see THE REF at a Times Square theater hoping there'd be a nice crowd to laugh with. No such luck. I was the only one.

I went to a downtown theater on a weeknight to see a children's film that I was assigned to review: DIGIMON THE MOVIE. I was the only one there. Which was okay. It felt like I was having a private screening. And no kids to make noise.

It was my second time to see it as it's my favorite Cameron film. Reading Orson Scott Card's novelization helped give me better appreciation for the film prior to the director's cut.

Re: Ever been alone in a theater?

Regularly. Then again, when you see three or four movies a week, and your primary times are matinees, the odds increase slightly.

Re: Ever been alone in a theater?

Several times I thought it was going to happen, but it never has. The first I remember was Tremors. Were in there alone until some people walked in during the trailers. The most recent was Bruno. I was by myself until right before the movie started and then like 10 people walked in. I used to day time weekday matinees so quite frequently there would only be me and a few other people in the theater.

My friend and I were the only ones in the theater when we saw Sukiyaki Western Django on opening day. There were two other people there before the movie started, but they left before the trailers and never came back.

Re: Ever been alone in a theater?

I went to see Small Time Crooks, was alone in the theater, and the movie never started.
When I finally went out to ask, they said they forgot anyone was in there, so they never bothered to start the show.
I asked for my money back, and I got a refund and a free ticket for the future.

I think it happened once for me. ONe of the Wayne's World movies, we went in and they refunded our money and gave us free tickets.
