That's unfortunate, and must be a play for box office numbers. I'll still see it though, great cast and a lighter action movie is always enjoyable.

I'm just curious for everyone here complaining about this being PG-13, how many of you actually read the source material? . . . . . . what? None of you? That is what I thought. Because aside from a few F-bombs, there is nothing in the books that would make this rated R.

Sessa17: THANKS! I was wondering what the source was like. I can understand a PG-13 if the source wasn't a "hard" type of tale.

I like all these scenes. They're pretty cool. Can't wait.

No, the story was very typical, high-action, Tarantino-esque dialogue. The only dissapointment for me from the footage is the books had very distinct, stylized, art with a lot of non-conventional perspectives. So I hoped the movie would have shared that instead of going for a typical Michael Bay straight forward glossy Hollywood feel to it. I have never seen the A-Team TV show so I can't speak for the comparisons, but the dialogue & "team" dynamics of this film are true to the book, not really an A-team rip-off.

This movie really has an uphill battle. It's not a known property and has no well-known stars. That said, it looks like fun and I will definitely give it a shot.

Here's an early (negative) review from a guy's opinion I respect:

Yeah, pretty ugly reviews on Rotten Tomatoes... but Armond White liked it, lol!

Re: The Losers (S. White, 2010) — Vertigo book about betrayed ex-Special Forces team

This movie was a painfully boring snoozefest and amateurish. Chris Evans stole the show in any scene he was in - he really puts in 100% to whatever he does. Im really looking forward to Capy America now.

There are some good zoe saldana ass shots in the movie. I like her but she's a bit wooden in this.

Re: The Losers (S. White, 2010) — Vertigo book about betrayed ex-Special Forces team

"The Losers" plays out like a so-so outline of an action movie featuring 5 guys from military ops on the run, and needing to restore their place in the world. All the characters are very sketchily drawn, and they simply serve to execute the action sequences for the most part. At just under 100 minutes, I think the film might have been better suited for another 10-15 minutes of character-building footage because it's so black-n-white, it's too safe of an action film.

I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

I thought it was fun. A few people actually clapped when the credits rolled at the end. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

From that review:

The credits of The Losers state that Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard) directed the film from a script written by Peter Berg (The Kingdom) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac). These are lies. The Losers was directed by Tony Scott after suffering massive head trauma, and it was written by a 15-year-old's boner.

Despite such "high praise", I still wanna see it.

Same here. I went with a friend of mine and we both dug it. She said didn't think it would be good goin' in, but she loved it. I liked the chemistry of the team and the comedic stuff was fun too.

BTW, Chris Evans is gonna ROCK Captain America...

Re: The Losers (S. White, 2010) — Vertigo book about betrayed ex-Special Forces team

I caught a midnight showing this Friday and enjoyed it thoroughly. A fun cast (especially Evans...that dude is funny), light but decent action, entertaining dialogue, a lot of style. I would have appreciate an R version more, I'm sure, but all in all I enjoyed myself, which is all I really want from a movie anyway.

Favorite piece of dialogue (during the Mexican standoff):

"Where's your gun?"
"In the van."
"What's it doing there?"
"Not much."

Thought this was entertaining as hell. The style was a bit too hyperactive at first but then it settled down and got into a good groove. Chris Evans and Jason Patric really steal the movie IMO and Zoe Saldana's rocking ass has never looked better, easily worth the price of admission. It's too damn bad this is tanking hard, because I'd like to see the sequel they set up with that not so satisfying ending. 3.5/5 stars.

Yeah as I was sitting there at the end I got kinda bummed because I knew that there would be little chance for a sequel.

Zoe's ass shots where amazing....
