"Bye bye, goofy woman. I enjoyed repeatedly throwing you to the ground."
Why bother? Aside from El Debarge, is Short Circuit really all that dated?

Re: Short Circuit Remake
I have no feeling about this whatsoever. The original was a piece of shit 80s C-movie at best, a crappy E.T.-wannabe strangely bolstered by the then-hot Steve Gutenberg and the sorta-recognizable Ally Sheedy. And that crappy-ass theme song.
If they're gonna do a remake, do it in gay porn. Cut & girthy!

Re: Short Circuit Remake
This seems like the "right" kind of remake. The original isn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination. There's no cult following or endless merch like Goonies. It was always a pretty average movie that was more popular than it deserved, popular enough to pump out a sequel. Why not give it another shot?
Two things though. How about we leave out the white guy playing an Indian guy? I watched SC about 5-7 years ago and man was that awkward.
Lastly, with them addressing Johnny-5 being more of a modern robot, why stick to the old model? I get the nostalgia, but it doesn't make much sense.
