I really enjoyed this, the best comedy of the year so far, and probably one of the best of the 2000s.

P.S.: I still say Observe and Report is my favorite comedy of the year (trust me, that is a bonafide cult classic in the making), but Hangover is dangerously close behind.

So a groom and 3 friends go to Vegas for a bachelor party night 2 days before the wedding, and when they wake up, the groom is missing, and no one remembers anything from the night before, and all hell has broke loose in their villa suite at Caesar's. That's the setup.
Enjoyed the slow build to finding out what happened the night before, and director Todd Philips almost always pulls back when the movie could have gone careening out of control, allowing for smaller laughs in service of peeling back the clues that leads the 3 best friends to uncovering the truth of it all. And by the time the final act concludes, the humor just builds and builds and ends on a high note (stay for the credits).
The cast is overall solid, with Zach Galifianakis stealing most of his scenes as the socially awkward brother of the bride. Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper are also good as the groom's friends, and Justin Bartha is the groom.
I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

I love Ed Helms, but I don't see how you could differenitiate between Andy and his character in The Hangover. You easily could have called his character Andy in the film and it would've been the same person. The way he was being manipulated by his girlfriend of 3 years reminded me of his engagement to Angela, and we know Andy has a temper given his having to go to anger management a couple of years back. That's part of the reason I thought it was so good.
I love it when no-name actors to most people can band together, have awesome chemistry, and make a fucking epic comedy. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of all three of them in more movies now.
Also expecting the inevitable Hangover 2. Or at least I hope.

I saw this with a full crowd and we had a blast. I was laughing my ass off from, "We fucked up" to the last pic before the credits started. All I heard as we filed out was different versions of,"That was the best movie I've seen all year".

With all the attention Zach is/will be getting I hope we final get a Dog Bites Man dvd. I've been sitting on a shitty bootleg for awhile now, but I'd happily throw that away for the real thing.
I'm guessing somebody at Comedy Central is feeling pretty fucking dumb right now for not picking up the Zach and A.D. Miles pilot (seen in Riot's post #2).

Caught this yesterday. What an absolute fucking riot! I was laughing so hard my chest hurt by the end of it. I thought the film did an excellent job of combining situational humor and the humor coming from the characters themselves. Bradley Cooper finally didn't feel completely smarmy and actually comes out as the most likeable of the three. Zach stole the show, although Ed Helms had some really solid material in there as well. I'm going to need to see this again.
P.S. Deftones: You really should have complained. Even if there were no extra material in the credits (and the pictures are really, really funny), it's not right for a theater to cut the movie off before the credits. It would be like going to see a concert and the venue cuts off the mics and lowers the curtains just as the band is about to start their encore. It's part of the film and it's absolutely wrong for theaters to cut out the credits to try and fit in more shows or get more cleaning time or whatever.

Saw this last night with a group of friends. Have to echo what everyone else here has mentioned and say this film was hilarious!!
I loved all the leads and all the random characters they would run into along the way. I had a soft spot for Bradley Cooper, as I've been a fan of his since his days on Alias. Galifianakis had me in stitches with some of his delivery
"Your language is offensive!"
Also I almost had a heart attack when Ken Jeong's (who I also love)
Almost died laughing during the credits as well. I hope to see this again really soon.

Caught a matinée and enjoyed it like everyone else. Way better then the overrated Old School or Road Trip, and on par with the great R rated comedies we got last year. Just a fun ride, and like others I really liked Bradley Cooper in this role. I don't really know much about Galifinakis, and he started off kind of annoying and that the part was written so that they were trying too hard to make him that awkward guy, but it really settled in with some of those lines. I was surprised to see so much man ass too, especially Ken Jeong. I do agree that his character was a bit too over the top, which didn't add much to the movie and it would have been better if he just played it "straight."
I think my favorite line throughout the whole film in the police station where they said

Saw it today, hilarious start to finish. I can't remember the last non-Apatow related comedy that was any good...well actually Sex Drive, but this was much better.

Loved the music and checked the soundtrack out on iTunes but the version if Iko Iko on the soundtrack doesn't seem like the one in the film that included a rap. Regardless, anyone know a place that list the music in the movie - not the soundtrack?

Was that Danzig's version of "Thirteen" when the movie opened? I know he wrote the song, but I had only heard Johnny Cash's version and wasn't even sure if Danzig had ever recorded it.

I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I thought it was easily one of the best comedies of the past few years.

Did they ever explain Phill character bruise his ribs and get a concussion?
I must have missed it.
