Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
Opening weekend: 115 mil
Total domestic: 380 mil |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I think somewhere around 75mil sounds right...
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
A hair over 26 million. Looks like this will post a V for Vendetta type opening.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I'll say 35.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
300 opened to about 70 right? I'm gonna say 60 for opening wknd, 150-ish total.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I'll say around 65.

Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I think a 160 minute comic book movie that doesn't feature Heath Ledger opening in March will probably open to about $40 million.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
Opening Weekend: $37m
Domestic Gross: $112m Worldwide Gross: $228m |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I voted for 51-75 million, but that may be a stretch.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
Opening: $35 mil
Domestic: $110 mil I know no one outside of "comic-DVD-videogame land" who wants to see this. And a lot of these same people saw The Dark Knight opening weekend or soon after. |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
$42 million opening weekend
$105 million total I think audiences are gonna be divided on this one |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
Yea, this is an R rated film. I wouldnt expect anything close to 100 million on opening weekend. I say 67 million.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
ill go with 60 million on opening weekend.
and 180 million domestic |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
Everyone so far is underestimating the hell out of this. Considering this is the most hyped up movie since TDK, as well as being more appealing than 300, the opening weekend will be over 100 mil.
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
76-100 million was my vote.

Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
Watchmen is more hyped up than Twilight was?
|
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I voted 51-75 million. I think people are underestimating it a tiny bit, but there's no way it's a 100 million dollar opener. On that note, there's no way its a 30 million dollar weekend either.
I think it will be around 70. |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
There is no way this movie is going to outperform Passion of the Christ (Highest movie opening in february at (83 mil). I will predict in the 26-50 range.

Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
$65m is as high (I'm assuming there will be Thursday midnight showings) as I'm willing to go based on rating, runtime (4 shows a screen), the fact it may lose some IMAX business to the Jonas Bros. flick and time of year.
It has fanboy cache, but I see very little opportunity to click outside it's demo like Iron Man, TDK or even possibly Wolverine and if the reaction to the final product is mixed it may not even limp to $170m domestic. |
Re: Box Office Predictions: Watchmen
I think the opening will be decent ~50mill but will have more stamina due to spring break and very little competition, repeat viewing and good word of mouth.
Total $150mill |
