Re: Stallone says Rambo will return soon
The series naming goes like this
First Blood
Rambo: First Blood Part 2
Rambo III
Rambo
So there are two Rambo 1's, no Rambo 2's, and a Rambo 3.

Re: Stallone says Rambo will return soon
t was rumored back in June that work had started on another big screen entry in the Rambo franchise (launched in 1982 with First Blood). Now, thanks to reader 'nopr100,' we know the title! Sylvester Stallone will be heading into one last fight with Rambo: Last Blood, which he also plans to direct.
Stallone last played the role of John Rambo in 2008's Rambo, which earned $113.2 million worldwide on a $50 million budget. He also wrote and directed that film. Then in 2009, a rumored synopsis hit for a fifth film that made it seem like Stallone was planning to adapt James Byron Huggins' novel "Hunter." At this time, however, official plot details are unavailable.
Avi Lerner, who has worked repeatedly with Stallone, will produce Last Blood for Millennium Films.

I think this is a bad idea. I'm sure I'll enjoy it but John Rambo was such a great way to end his pain. I really really loved the ending for that one.

See. The ending to John Rambo wrapped up everything for that character's emotion. It was nice. It was kind of sad. But also very respectful to and for the character.

But very much out of the realm of what the Rambo films have shown. Sure they may gotten too 1980s in their ridiculousness but then John Rambo happens and it's pretty damn brutal but no BS either.
I'll watch it cuz I'm interested but I can't see this being a good finale for which we already had one.
For those that haven't seen it. They should totally get the John Rambo BD. The TC is good with solid features but John Rambo was even better giving it much more of a soul akin to what First Blood had.

I echo everyone else s sentiments. I'm not thrilled of the idea because I thought 4 did a great job of having a solid end for the character and this just feels like a Stallone cash grab. On the other hand, I'm going to see it regardless so what do I know?

Meh I'll enjoy it for what it is. I mean these films aren't exactly high art but just fun popcorn action. I think Stallone still has a bit left in the tank so I'll watch his films still because I like a lot of his recent output for what it is.

If they do decide to make this hopefully they'll set it sometime between Rambo III and Rambo. That way we can still have another Rambo entry as well as the proper ending we were given in the last entry.
Of course, I'd still prefer they didn't make a new one at all.

This has been on his radar ever since finishing the last one, I'm pretty pumped for it. Expendables is likely over...so I was thinking this was next up.

Agreed. Both Rocky Balboa and John Rambo were great endings to the stories of their respective characters. Rambo back in the US approaching the farm with the First Blood theme playing was the perfect stopping point.

How awesome would it be if Stallone made another Rambo film picking up exactly where the last one left off where the first scene is Brian Dennehy's character Teasle from First Blood stopping him in the street asking him "So where you heading"?... then has a look of shock as he realizes he's John Rambo?
Actually, that's how the last one shouldve ended.
