How did Sunshine do? I thought it was great...wait...*checking*....

boxofficemojo.com says...

Domestic: $3,675,753 11.5%
+ Foreign: $28,342,050 88.5%
= Worldwide: $32,017,803

Damn...I think it was in limited release here in the states right? I dunno...I think if WB tags on "from the director of The Dark Knight" that should help substantially with marketing...

And promoting that it stars Leonardo DiCaprio couldn't hurt either.

and unlike Boyle, I doubt Inception will fall apart in the third act.

^ Sadly, if they advertised Sunshine as what happens in the 3rd act, it probably would have done better.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

I was fine with the concept of the third act but the execution was disappointing.
Spoiler:
Boyle should have had the astronomer's suicide be a question as to whether he actually did it or if the crispy astronaut was the culprit. The suspense of there being another guy as opposed to another case of space dementia needed to be strung along more.

I will be there to see Inception; Nolan hasn't done a bad film yet.

I dunno how truthful this is but JoBlo says we'll get a teaser of this flick in front Inglourious Basterds. I hope it's not title logo thing...

It will be. Maybe a quick flash of a scene also, but nothing much. Are they even done with filming yet? Anyway, the AVATAR teaser will drown this out anyway.

Anyone notice that Leo looks kinda like he could pass as Nolans younger brother or something..
Anyways this should be exciting. Wonder if this will be R-rated.

I dont even mind so much about the rating with Nolan cause he has proved himself with 3 previous PG-13 masterpieces that never once catered to children I was just curious.

I would bet money though that this will be at least 2 hours long though. Nolan knows what he is doing.

So Nolan wouldn't know what he was doing if it wasn't at least 2 hours long?Has anyone ever told you that quality comes before quantity?

^ Of course not. Insomnia nd memento are just shy of 2 hours and are both IMO masterpieces.
I highly highly doubt this will be less than 110 minutes though. Because Nolan tends to make wonderful wonderful films that usually end up on my top 10 mist of the year and movies on my op 10 list tend to not be short films. Hence why i respond to films that have a high Rating and runtime. Its just what speaks to me more.

Did you forget about Tim Burton and Robert Zemeckis?
How about upcoming films from Wes Anderson and the Steven Spielberg/Peter Jackson Tintin movies?

If Nolan ever announces he'd want to make an animated movie with Pixar, chris_sc77's head would explode.

Quick! Someone get John Lassetter and Christopher Nolan on the phone!

Wait, someone thinks Nolan's remake of Insomnia is a masterpiece? Come on. The original is brilliant. The remake is just ok.

But why should it matter? Shouldn't the story and characters be much more important then the rating and run time? And both Insomnia and Memento are R.....
