For a 2.5 hour cerebral mind-bending thriller that requires the audience to do an awful lot thinking and give the movie their complete and undivided attention -- $200 million is beyond massive.

Seems that last week Zimmer and Marr performed the score to Inception live...damn cool

I've been listening to the score non-stop and love it. It's just so moody. The final track, Time, is definitely my favorite. I wish this movie'd arrive in Puerto Rico already.

I hope the BD release of this movie includes a lossless audio copy of the video you just posted, Snake.

That'd be cool. I'd love to get a Nolan commentary on this one. Still bummed about not having one on TDK or BB

RocShemp 07-22-10 06:32 PM

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

Well Nolan said he expressed his thoughts on BB in the special features and felt an audio commentary would be redundant. I guess he felt the same way with TDK.

Any one else get a Parasite Eve vibe from the fifth track on the score CD, Old Souls?

I'm thinking Nolan will do a Maximum Movie Mode since Warner has been doing that more since TDK's release.

RocShemp 07-23-10 11:23 AM

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

As long as I can access the special features independantly from the MMM, by all means let them do that.

I still laugh about this....

I have a bad taste about all if not mostly all Movie related games...

from ugo.com

Inception could be making its way to a gaming platform near you, according to the film's writer, director, and producer Christopher Nolan. Variety reports that the filmmaker revealed plans for an Inception videogame spin-off at a press conference celebrating the movie's theatrical debut in Italy.

"We are looking at doing is developing a videogame based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can't fit into a feature film," Nolan told his Rome audience. "That's something we've been talking about and are looking at doing long term, in a couple of years."

Nolan's latest has grossed $753 million worldwide since it premiered in London on July 8 of this year. Its story revolves around a team of corporate spies who infiltrate a sleeping target's mind in order to steal secrets -- a concept that Psychonauts fans ought to appreciate.

The game adaptation of Nolan's last major flick, The Dark Knight, went down with Pandemic Studios when the developer was shuttered by owner EA. There's no telling whether or not Nolan's vision of an Inception game will ever actually come to fruition, but it's an intriguing prospect
Jesus...it's made that much?! I need to keep up to date on my films.

Yeah, overseas gross is currently tied with The Dark Knight.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

I honestly didn't see that happening. I mean...I didn't think it'd make THAT much money. I was thinking 200 mil less but..wow. WB REALLY REALLY loves Nolan for sure and would probably do anything to keep him from leaving them. This only means more great things can come from WB catering to whatever Nolan wants in terms of him filmmaking decisions.

Michael Caine apparently said in an interview that the end of inception is

Spoiler:
it's all real. Leo's not in the dream world, and the top falls.

Not sure how he can say that with 100% certainty. That's the fun of Inception... you just don't know and there's an argument either way. I loved that about the ending... but the engineer in me (ie the black and white nerd) wanted to know the absolute meaning at the end. Michael Caine can't tell me, Nolan has to.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

I think Michael Caine saw the top fall after they were done filming the scene and figured that meant it was supposed to be real.

Solid Snake 09-29-10 02:47 PM

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

It was going to fall no matter what when they were filming. Unless they were going for some way to not make that bitch fall.

Well, that's nice. But he can say whatever he wants. He's him and the movie is a movie.

And my final conclusion is the same as his.

The past few days I've been making an Inception costume for a photo shoot and I've had the following exchange with about half a dozen co-workers.

"What's that?"

"It's the spinning hallway from Inception."

"Oh. I haven't seen it."

Isn't it the #3 movie of all time? How am I encountering this many people who haven't seen it?
