I'm with you 100%.

In fact, when my friend was so curious why I was so hyped for Inception after seeing the new trailer I conceded it could partly be due to my man love for JGL. Though, really... is it that hard to see why we should be pretty anxious for this release?!

I'm sure quite a few people view JGL as one of the most promising actors of his generation. Admittedly not much competition in that department though.

I'll admit..since JGL in Brick, there's no actor I've been more interested in their of acting but JGL. Never liked DiCaprio TILL The Aviator..took Scorsese to man him up and Thank God for Marty.

Wasn't a big fan of Ledger, nor never recognized him beyond random actor, till Brokeback Mountain and sadly my appreciating his growth in acting was shortened.

What makes Inception a very interesting film beyond it's intriguing plot is that for the most part..it's packed with very well established actors of different nationalities and ages (and for some of them that art of acting is still growing). It's got Caine (whom we can all pretty much say that he fucking rocks just for being Caine) to Ellen Page, who is still growing with her roles (at varying degrees...I like her she's not a bad actress). DiCaprio getting better all the time. JGL ditto.

And at that helm is very much growing director, Christoher Nolan. He does BB and then does The Prestige. TDK and now this. His establishment as a director is amazing in our era. Nobody has improved as well as he has. And it's not just little by little. It's fucking leaps of improvement in each movie. Watch Following all the way to TDK. It's fascinating to see that growth in him.

That's why I want to see Inception. I can't wait to see what he does for BB3 and especially after BB3. Those are his most interesting films the things he does after his massive mainstream films.

It would be nice but I really don't know about that. Mysterious Skin was my first exposure to him & I've been amazed by him ever since, not just the films he pics but the subtleties & little things he does in his performances. I really haven't seen much talk about him here (I'm gald now to see some others like him). I don't follow awards so I have no clue if he has been nominated for anything & from my friends & people I've talked most have no clue who he is or only know him from a TV show (that I didn't even know he did).

I think he's gotten awards for his smaller films before..or at least heavy recognition among those festivals.

DiCaprio was fantastic right from the beginning in This Boy's Life and Gilbert Grape.

I'm not saying he's the next Brando or anything, just that he's carved out a relatively impressive and eclectic filmography for someone so young.

Yeah, but I never cared for him till he stopped looking like a teen and started to do some "more serious" stuff. In his younger days yeah he was good but...he wasn't as great as they hyped him to be (and a lot of that hype was from the teen girls along with a respectable amount of critics). His work in Titanic wasn't amazing to me. It was good. But not to the extent that everybody made it out to be. Gangs of New York he was poorly teamed up w/ Diaz to act against Day-Lewis. Aviator he was great. Seemed to do pretty good in The Departed, Blood Diamond, Revolutionary Road, and now Shutter Island. He's doing meatier roles is probably what I'm trying to say.

It took me a while to warm up to DiCaprio. I was a bit of a hater in the beginning. It wasn't until The Beach (underrated, totally dig the film) that I started to like him. Now, I think it is just a joy to watch him dig into a character. I have no clue how film after film there are still posts by people saying he can't act.

I fail to see how me thinking your comment about being gay for one man is funny/odd makes me uncomfortable with my sexuality.

I saw the teaser for this a while ago and thought it looked great. I would also like to add that Joseph Gordon Levitt is fantastic. He has also become very good at picking projects that showcase his talent. Even something as mediocre as The Lookout is better for having him in it.

I'm always glad to see when people mention The 13th Floor. Good, forgotten flick.

I like seeing a high-concept movie get a gargantuan budget ($200mil).

"Musn't be afraid to...mumble mumble...what?

What's that final dialogue in the trailer? I don't understand what's he's saying before he shoots that big gun.

"Musn't be afraid to dream bigger, darling." I'm guessing they can imagine equipment in the dream worlds.

(Took me eight attempts to figure that out. It's one of those annoying times where I couldn't fully understand a British accent.)

Anyone else think the score in the trailer sounded similar to the score in Shutter Island? I could just picture the boat coming through the fog.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

One thing's for certain, this isn't going to be a typical run of the mill summer movie. No idea if mainstream audiences will latch on, but I'm definitely in for this one. Seems to be a mixture of Dark City and the original Matrix, which seems like a good thing.
