I'd take 90 minutes of that over what was in the trailer.

this. i love the short but not so sure about this being an animated feature length. i do like that they kept it black and white.

I used to be a fan of Tim Burton, now I don't care anymore. What a boring body of work he's had the last decade (save for Big Fish).

Re: Tim Burton to direct full-length "Frankenweenie"

I'll admit this trailer looks more promising than anything he's done in ages, but I'm wondering how it'll work as a full-length feature. I'd guess the running time can't be over 80 min.

I thought Sweeney Todd was one of his best works he's ever had. Right up there with Ed Wood.

I almost forgot about ST. That was an anomaly amongst everything after Sleepy Hollow.

I think Big Fish was as good as anything else he has done. Plus Im a fan of Nightmare before christmas (even if its now over marketed and yes he didnt direct it) and corpse bride.

Im pretty much a sucker for good claymation so Im in.

Just got back from an advanced screening. It was not bad, not great. The animation and the character design was awesome. I'd seen the short film back when I got Nightmare Before Christmas on BD so I was familiar with the basic premise from that.

I actually saw Frankenweenie (the short) again in class. It'd been soooo long. I really like it. It's sooooo fresh and imaginative while also gushing w/ love in the trappings of the genre Burton oozes over. WTF happened to that guy? lol.

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would - guess seeing the commercials/trailers ad nauseum got old real fast - anyhoo - the movie is far more twisted and funnier than expected. And the 3D is fantastic much better implemented than 'ParaNorman'

I liked the short, so I'm "in" for the film. Mos Def (him too!)

Bad screenplays happened. It sucks when he has something that suits him perfectly, like Dark Shadows, only for it to turn out like Dark Shadows did.

His "Deep Roy plays every Oompa Loompa" idea though has no defense.

Re: Tim Burton to direct full-length "Frankenweenie"

I just finished watching the original short film after many many years (even forgot it was live-action), and thought it was great! (Loved that neighbor who was also on BeWitched!)

But now that I saw this trailer for the first time, it's like an insult to the short film! Blah.

I saw this as an opening night premiere at Fantastic Fest, and loved it. I am also a sucker for the artistry that goes into stop motion.

Re: Tim Burton to direct full-length "Frankenweenie"

This was actually good and it's Burton's best movie in a while. It's light and has fun with older horror movies. It's cute and has charm up the ying yang. Too bad this bombed. Put it on the pile of other good movies that bombed. Like how they expanded on the short, there are tons of similarities but also plenty of stuff to distinguish it as its own thing. Dug the other pets.

Re: Tim Burton to direct full-length "Frankenweenie"

I really liked this movie but didn't realize how sad of a story it was going in. Anything involving pets dying gets to me. Even still, it was a lot of fun.

Definitely the most fun I've had watching a Burton film since Big Fish.

Thought the film looked gorgeous!

Saw this today with my son. I liked it a lot more than I was expecting to. It started off a bit slow but had come around nicely by the end.
