NEW TRAILER, not as good as the Red Band but...it's cool yet it drives a generic feel at times. That which the Red Band did not for me.

So does this get more credit because Taken was so well liked? I certainly view it in a different way than I did last year when the first trailer was released.

what do you mean?

The name dropping of Taken is a good thing for the Studio and hopefully a good thing that it's Morel that did this. The name dropping of Taken will get it's fans happy to see that the guy who did that is doing another cool looking flick.

i dunno if i like or cringe in the tv ads that there is a scene where the John Travolta character talks about eating a Royal with Cheese, and then even shown eating one

I like it. Cool tip of the hat to the movie that allowed him to make this movie.

Every time I see John Travolta in the trailer, I can't stop laughing.

So is this pretty much an unofficial sequel to Swordfish? From what i have seen in the few previews, it seems like the natural progression of his character from that movie.

Yup. In the same way that The Prestige is aprequel to Wolverine.

This seems to be one of those movies that is hard to show good/decent footage from since its a very hard R with lots of swearing and graphic violence

Re: From Paris With Love (Morel, 2009): Travolta in action/thriller

Just got back from a sneak preview of this...overall I liked it but it is not what i would call a "good" movie. The action scenes are fun and the story sucks. It is an enjoyable bad movie, filled with intentional and unintentional comedy. As long as you go in expecting this, you should be satisfied. And before someone asks, it is NOWHERE near as good as Taken.

No offense to your taste in movies, but I'll wait until another (read: any other) review comes out.

Meh. Flawed, but marginally entertaining thanks to the action, which Morel is still good at. I think I'd give it ***/*****, although it might drop half a star by Friday.

Went to the press screening tonight. Obviously there needs to be a major suspense of disbelief
in any major action flick so I gave that aspect a pass. But the conclusion to the story is absolutely
brainless and terrible. Totally took me out of it. As you can tell from the previews, Travolta most certainly delivers.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing better to do.

What do you know about my taste in movies? Are you just basing that off of my username? You can think what you want, but I happen to think I have good taste.

Ebert gave it a complete 'non-review'.

I can't remember him being so bored with a movie that he didn't even discuss it much in his review. Disdain dripped from what little he actually mentioned about the film itself.

He talks in a general sense about editing, CGI work, and the history of actors doing their own stunts.

I knew this would be an idiotic suckfest, but man it must be terrible.

John Travolta is one of those actors that as soon as I see his name attached to a film, I know that the film is either going to be pretty mediocre or just plain suck.

Why can't an alien ship just come and take him away already.

Why don't you give you me an example of a movie I like that you don't and vice versa, so I know you didn't just come to a dumb generaliztion. Actually give me a few examples since you think you know my taste so well.
