Best Comedy of 2008

more dramedy than flat out laugh a minute, I really liked

Son of Rambow

Poultrygeist - finally saw a few select theatrical dates and then right onto video - Troma at it's best. There's enough bodily fluid flying left and right to satisfy the masses.

Tropic Thunder is hands down my favorite movie (not just comedy) of the year. It's the first movie since Memento that I've seen more than once in the theater.

I rarely see a movie twice in the theatre, but Tropic Thunder [and The Dark Knight (35mm + IMAX) and Kung Fu Panda (DLP + IMAX Digital) Mamma Mia! (film + sing along version)] I saw twice as well.

The best for me was Step Brothers.

Also, in no particular order;

Role Models (close second, though)
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Tropic Thunder
Zack and Miri Make a Porno

I'm going to watch The Foot Fist Way tonight. Hope that makes the cut as well.

Tropic Thunder and Sarah Marshall are tied. Hamlet 2 takes second place. Special mention to Zack and Miri.

Ha! Was just getting ready to post that I thought "Hamlet 2" was the funniest film of the year. Followed very closely by "Thunder" and "Marshall" tied for second. And "Role Models" at third. Haven't seen "Zack and Miri" yet.

Tropic Thunder was the funniest comedy. In Bruges had some gut busting moments though.

For me:

1-Tropic Thunder
2-Role Models
3-Zach and Miri Make a Porno
4-Hamlet 2
5-Son of Rambow

Also, Kabluey, Religilous, In Bruges are hilarious.

In Bruges had some clever lines. Can't say I had much interest in any of the other films mentioned.

I recall you and I having very similar thoughts and interests in not only film, but music too.

I want to add I think "In Bruges" is still the best film of 2008 (tied with "Tell No One"). But it's hard for me to call it a full on comedy. I would like to change my previous third entry for funniest film and replace it with "Choke". Followed by "Role Models".

In Bruges was one of the funniest films of year I will also say. Not necessarily a comedy I guess but it was a great movie with a lot of hilarious moments/lines in it,
