Well, there's a reason Quantum of Suck...sucked balls.

At least that's one movie I don't have to see anymore.

Is Lindelof really the guy we want giving his opinions on endings? Did he watch his ending of Lost?

Was Lindelof even involved with the actual writing process? I was under the assumption due to his work on Star Trek and Tomorrowland, that he couldn't do it due to time constraints and it went to Drew Goddard instead.

He's credited with writing or co-writing 6 episodes of the final season, including the season opener and finale.

Taking something that is already arrogant, evil, murderous ... and making it a zombie. Great.

Saw the poster at the theater tonight. Actually looked to see if that cat was in the poster.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed to see that it's not there. Would have been kind of a funny "Easter egg" if it was real.

I did the exact same thing. I walked over close to it to inspect it to see if was there.

Fuck. I did the same thing. I wanted it to be true.

From the trailer I saw today, it was hard to tell that this movie even has zombies in it. Martial law is declared, families are separated, riots and burning, hoards of CG people running and climbing over each other. It's like they are trying to downplay the horror element and sell this as a generic disaster movie.

So this was screen in Jersey last night for the first time. The buzz is actually positive. A lot people saying how shocked they were that it was actually pretty good. But it does lack on gore (if that's important to you).

Does it explain why becoming a zombie apparently turns you into an olympic athlete?

Re: World War Z

Zombies do a lot of weird things depending on which film it is, so I'm not really hung up on that. Granted, the CGI hordes look absolutely atrocious, but as far as the mechanics of how they're moving go, I can get over it if the movie is good.

Which, as noted above, I've been reading is extremely intense and a lot better than we're all expecting it to be. I still think it's going to bomb, though.

I'm still holding out hope that the book gets the true adaptation it deserves: as a mini series on TV. Doesn't even have to be HBO, cable channels like FX and AMC show plenty of violence and gore.

I guess if the movie is a big success, a studio might want to cash in on it and release a TV series that adapts the book. Although it might depend if the movie made changes to the story that would make a book adaption conflict with the moviee.

I read an interview with the producer a couple weeks ago where he basically said he felt they were in a no-win situation with this movie. They filmed the original ending but then felt it wasn't good enough so they could have either kept the original ending which they felt wasn't right or film an entirely new one only to have negative buzz surround the movie with people thinking the movie was going to be a disaster due to the rewrites. The producer said they decided to do the right thing and make the movie the best they could. Unfortunately people judged the rewrite as being a terrible thing when, in fact, their intention was to improve the movie.

If that's the case I feel for the filmmakers. By realizing the ending didn't work and taking the initiative to make the movie the best they could they put themselves in a position that allowed rumors to (possibly) influence the B.O. take. I can see studios in the future leaving a shit film as-is just to save themselves from pre-release public opinion.

Damon Lindelof wrote the ending...so be warned.

I don't care what an audience of Joe Six Packs thinks of the movie. This is supposed to be a big dumb summer popcorn movie and it will satisfy the masses.
