The world created in I Am Legend wasn't interesting enough to create a prequel or sequel.

Even though I Am Legend is imo Will's best action movie, I don't see the need for a prequel. I'll see it in theaters though.

Hmm, so since it's a prequel, what are they going to call it? I Will Be Legend??

Actually, that's a good title since Will Smith will be in it ... and btw Variety, thanks for including spoilers in the article.

I think this may get the award for most pointless movie ever.

so....it'll show us the extension of the scenes we saw from the flashbacks in I am Legend? And it would end....at when NYC is totally desolate and alone with the exception of him or what. Somewhat interesting but...I was content with the bits we saw of the outbreak reaction...

Wish they had used the book as source material. There were lots of things in the past that were talked about in the book.

and the reason for the title was never really put forward. The book made it damn clear in the end...

This doesn't make sense.

I Am Legend = end of the world

Prequel = not the end of the world

So, basically, just about any movie qualifies.

So they are going to LEAD UP to the events that are exciting? Can't wait to see him work in the lab and buy a puppy.

It'll be about Emma Thompson creating the cure for cancer that brings upon the events in the movie. In an odd twist of luck, Will Smith meets her and they fight off aliens erm zombie vampires in the test lab and then cross paths with a crop duster and the president's wife.

I honestly think I'd rather see Re-Hitch or The Further Pursuit of Happyness than this.

Hard to believe that the book has been made into a movie THREE times now, and they still can't seem to understand the ending.

I mean, it's kind the point of the whole story.

Yeah, I am Legend as title means nothing in this film....it didn't give anything semblance of an action to deem it that title at all.

I agree, but I wish they would have used the book period. there is very little from the book and I believe they did a diservice to the movie by attaching it to the book.

The book is amazing, I would highly recomend it. I may have liked the movie if they had called it something else.

The Last Man on Earth understood the book's ending, since its ending pretty much drives home the same point.

Or they could call it I, Will, Be Legend.

Hey, the guy is box-office gold, after all.

Also, this is a pointless idea... but I'll wait to reserve full judgment until I read a script review.

Yes, but my use of multiple commas is enough to make it grammatically different. Still, we're on the same wavelength here.

I'd rather see Bad Boys 3.
