Anne Hathaway? Ugh! I've got nothing against Hathaway, but that is a shit choice for Catwoman. Would have preferred Beckinsale or a number of other actresses.

Ann Hathaway is a great choice.

Yeah but Beckinsale? Can't act for shit. A paradigm of blandness (though she looks fine). Not saying Hathaway is Meryl freakin' Streep, but she can act circles around Mrs. Wiseman without even trying.

Although I'm not blown away by the CHOICE of villains, I trust Nolan's vision and storytelling to impress me with them nonetheless.

I thought Beckinsale was quite good in Nothing But The Truth and Snow Angels

I believe that neither of those actresses are available.

Her lifeless line-delivery ensures whenever she's onscreen I have little-to-no interest in what she has to say.

Not since Kurt Russell turning down The Expendables have I been more disappointed with actors turning down a role. -ohbfrank-

He's probably only seen her in crap like Pearl Harbor, Van Helsing, Underworld, and Whiteout. Unfortunately, her worst films are by far her most publicized. Kate Beckinsale is a damn fine actress who gave very good to great performances in films like Cold Comfort Farm, Haunted, Last Days of Disco, Nothing But the Truth, Snow Angels, and even Winged Creatures.

As for Hathaway, I've seen enough of her to know she isn't going to act circles around anyone, especially Kate Beckinsale. Maybe she could act circles around Megan Fox.

Don't forget Beckinsale's star-making turn in the Oscar-worthy Tip Toes!

I know sarcasm when I hear it. But Tiptoes was a comedy, unintentionally so. Seeing Gary Oldman as a midget made that movie worth the wasted time.

Tip Toes is amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone anywhere ever.

 But you're recommending it for a different reason than movies are generally recommended.

Thanks for assuming that I'm some kind rube who hasn't been reviewing films (professionally and otherwise) since 1989. :)

The only decent performance you listed was Last Days of Disco, and Sevigny blew her out of the water.

I'll put it best this way:

Hey, the same thing was true about Heath Ledger, but I'm happy to say The Dark Knight proved me wrong; I'm sure Nolan can do the same for Hathaway.

Has there been a storyline in the Batman comic books that involved Bane and Catwoman in the same story?

They were both a part of Knightfall, but Catwoman's part was pretty small. I think it was mostly Bane telling her "I run things now."

Oh, I didn't meant to sound like I was against the choice. If nothing else she'll be some delicious eye candy.

Do you think the movie is going to revolve around Knighfall then?

Footage has already been shot and leaked.

Bane in Arkham Asylum prior to escaping in the first act:

I'm sure it will revolve around Knightfall in the same way The Dark Knight revolved around The Long Halloween. Which is to say, similar premise, totally different details and execution.
