Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

When it comes to comic book adaptations, all I care about is if the characters are true to their comic counterparts in terms of mannerisms and traits. Looks couldn't matter less. Ledger's Joker was obviously not a guy with actual white skin, and his make-up was nothing exceptional aside from the grin, but he was VERY much the Joker .
So far, Bane may not look like his comic book version that much, but I can already tell he is going to be close to the character.

Agreed, and personally, I think it's a good thing they are drastically changing Bane's look. The Mexican wrestler look would have looked ridiculous on film.

I think "Bronson" changed Hardy's body forever; he supposedly did a real Bronson-esque workout and when he met the guy, he called him puny. Hardy went back and did another few months of intensive training to get the right look.

I am probably alone in this, but I think Bane looks pretty stupid.

2 years ago if you saw this guy walking down the street you wouldn't piss in your pants?

For sure it did. Hell the character he's playing in Lawless was supposed to be a much thinner guy but there was no way he could kill off the mass he had from TDKR. Hell in inception he was a big guy from Bronson. The wardrobe hid it well to an extent aside from the general size he now has.

Yeah. Hardy has come a long way from the scrawny guy from Star Trek: Nemesis and Band of Brothers.

I'm sure Hardy's drug problems during his early acting days didn't do his body any favors either.

I used to think all that crazy comic book costuming would've looked ridiculous on film... and then I saw The Avengers.

I'm not saying Bane wouldn't have looked ridiculous in this film but he could look good in a different kind of film.

In all fairness, only Cap (albeit still modified), Iron Man and Hulk were the only ones true to their comic book appearances.

I think people would've taken Hawkeye less seriously if he had his standard outfit from the comics.

Thor, Loki and Black Widow looked the same. Hawkeye lost the pink outfit and cowl, but can you blame them?

Agreed, i'm not really sure why anyone would feel that Thor wasn't true to his comic book appearance.

Outside of the silly complaint about the helmet :)

Aside from his pants...waist up? Pretty much the standard look.

yeah...kind of wished he had the chain mail for his legs. I just looking fucking awesome. Thor 2...they better get him something better.

My eyes could be playing tricks on me, but is this who I think it is in a cameo?

I mean he was in 'Insomnia', so there's a chance it could be him. If not, damn good lookalike.

You think that's
Spoiler:
Robin Williams?
I see the resemblance but I don't think that's him.

^^Exactly, yeah. Very good resemblance but who knows, right?
