Far better than the Harry Potter poster posted here.

Seen it before, but it's still awesome. WB should make that the teaser poster assuming Nolan chooses to go with The Riddler.

Wow, that's a pretty sweet fan-made poster. It's a little too similar to the Joker theme of TDK though.

Yeah, but I would think the next villain would be sort of a Joker copy cat. Maybe not but it kinda makes sense.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I think they should go with a newly created villain. The only other character as cool as the Joker in Bats Rogue Gallery is Two-Face and he's been done. I honestly don't care for any of the other Batman villains. I think Harley Quinn would be a bad choice.

This would be one of the best options in my opinion. Not Necessarily the Riddler but something of that sort. I think the movie could work very well. Batman would have enough to do; running from the cops and trying to solve the murders.

I think that if they do bring back the Joker* they should use him as a Hannibal Lector type character where he provides information from behind the walls of Arkham. Some other poster mentioned something similar to this and I thought it was a pretty good idea.

*I feel that Ledger's Joker was absolutely fantastic and he deserved the Oscar and I think it would be hard for anyone to rival his performance. But I think it would be a mistake to not include the Joker in the next installment at all.

"Batman: So what happened to the Joker?

Gordon: ...What?...Oh, he died...

Batman: Oh, ok.

Gordon: So anyway Barbara and I were having some fusion Thai food the other night...

Batman: Oh yeah?"

I do hope they use the Riddler in the next film. I keep reading that people would like to see Edward Norton or Johnny Depp in the role, I'd go for someone with a younger look like Giovanni Ribisi or I think John Cusack could pull off a proper dark Riddler.

I don't think they should attempt to bring the Joker back at this point, maybe in another sequel in some sort of way.

Does not compute.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

The younger comment wasn't for Cusack, please re-read.

Gio would be like how they put Ledger in the role for of Joker. Younger, a fresh type idea with an actor that isn't exactly huge.

As for just the Riddler being just dark in general like these movies are, and if you are going to go with an established name, I'd go for someone like Cusack over Depp or especially Norton. In other words, Depp/Norton are poor choices in my book. But that is just my book.

No one has suggested anyone near as solid as Guy Pearce for the Riddler yet, IMO.

Seems a lot of people are picking actors that look like the comic book character. Remember Heath didn't look at all like any Joker.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Ok what if the Joker goes into hiding and gets a job working at a joke shop. And then Bruce Wayne comes in to buy a whoopie cushion and sees Jokers scars but they exchange a glance like each of then know who the other is. And then Batman puts the whoopie cushion down on Alfred's chair and he sits on it making a farting noise. Thats the whole movie.

I think Clive Owen would be a good addition to some context.

Megan Fox rumored to be playing Catwoman.

Since I don't think Nolan has written page 1 of the movie, I somehow doubt this.

I could support that. Though Pfeiffer will be hard to top.

^^ Better than the Cher rumor at least. Wonder how she will be able to pull off the master thief bit, fumbling with those big 'ol toe thumbs of hers.

Kidding!

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I hadn't heard about the Fox / Catwoman rumor. I thought this thread got bumped with a different rumor from Aint It Cool News:

"I have to say upfront that the nature of this story is a rumor, not because I don't have solid sources, I do... but because it could simply NOT WORK OUT. That happens sometimes. It is something that the production team are "considering" - but it is an extremely costly process, but one that I believe we would all love to see happen.

The THIRD chapter of Christopher Nolan's Caped Crusader's saga could very well be FULLY shot in IMAX, not IMAX Digital - but the beautiful, stunning IMAX that we saw pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT in."
