Wall-E foreign gross?

Anybody know why Wall-E is opening in other countries so late? I believe it came out in the United States at the end of June, but it's taking forever to open in other countries. It doesn't come out in Japan until December for example. Hancock, which opened in the USA one week after Wall-E I think opens in Japan at the end of August and has also opened up in way more countries than Wall-E. Same with The Dark Knight. I think that opens in Japan in a couple days and has already made over $200 million in the rest of the world. Indiana Jones came out about a month before Wall-E, but has pretty much opened everywhere and came out in Japan only a month after it came out in the USA. Boxofficemojo isn't updating Wall-E's foreign grosses for some countries that it's already opened in (France and the UK for example) but it still hasn't even opened in some other countries yet. Anybody know why it's taking so long?

Another question. Boxofficemojo says Dark Knight has made $203 million in foreign sales, but according to the foreign box office list on the site it says it's only opened in Australia, Brazil, Italy, Mexico and the UK and it's made $77 million in those countries. Where did the other $126 million come from?

Not sure, BOM has been a little behind on international grosses lately.

Wall*E has made £8,928,834 in the UK so far (more actually). $10m (US) in Russia (more, this is from July 20th).

BOX OFFICE MOJO

NOTE: The International section is currently on hiatus and will be back in full force in mid-August. There will be limited updates until then.

That would probably explain it.

Well, that answers that question.

Dark Knight opens on the 8th and I think Wall E is pushed way back to avoid competition with Studio Gibli's near anime and Kung Fu Panda.
Indy still enjoys a good crowd here but Dark Knight will be a hit here for sure.Even Batman Begins stayed here for a very long time

Yeah, Wall-E is set for a December release in Japan. The Ghibli Flick opened in July 19th and Kung Fu Panda opened on July 26th. Not sure why the huge push back for Wall*E.

if I recall correctly, I think Ratatouille also released in a similar fashion to WALL-E. I'm not sure why PIXAR did it, but there must've been some reason.

And yeah... since I live in Asia, I haven't seen the movie up to this day
