While he has made his fair share of mediocre (or worse) films I consider his best work to be among the best of modern American cinema. "Bird", "Unforgiven", "A Perfect World", "Mystic River", "Million Dollar Baby", "Letters from Iwo Jima", etc. - are all fantastic films, in my opinion.

I, for one, hope he keeps making movies for a good while longer.

Anyways - "Raging Bull" is a really great film. But, if I had to re-watch one from this poll, I'd probably choose "Million Dollar Baby". It's not nearly as technically perfect as "Raging Bull" - but I've watched it at least three times, and I still think it's a wonderful film, flaws and all.

It's just too bad my mother didn't abort me.

Remember the part when she poured the bucket of ice down his trunks? COMDEY GOLD!

On a serious note, my dad sold the producers of this film, the oil-pumping unit used in the background of Ryan O'Neil's "home". So my dad is pretty much in the Hollywood pipeline...

Where's Rocky IV??? If I can change. And you can change. Everybody can change!

Raging Bull is a masterpiece. Rocky is great. Million Dollar Baby was well made and emotional. Cinderella Man was, in my opinion, very poorly executed. I hated it in fact. Especially any scene with Zellweger.

"CHAMPION" with Kirk Douglas and "Body and Soul" with John Garfield are my two favorite Boxing Movies.

Really? I found the boxing sequences to be horrible. Howard's emotional drivel cruise control cutting to his wife druing the fight scene for me robbed the fights of their forcefulness. Not to mention his Raging Bull-rip off in the ring shooting style that was poorly executed.

Against my better judgement (I gen. hate Ron Howard films) I went to see this one in theaters specifically for the boxing and was severely let down. I don't think anything can top Raging Bull. I would have thrown some of the Rocky sequels in the poll in lieu of Cinderella Man to be honest.

I voted Raging Bull...forget best boxing movie, it is one of the best movies of all-time, as well as the best American film of the 1980's.
