Aneglina Jolie pursuing the role of Catwoman in Batman 3.

Just read this over at Latinoreview.com. I have to say that the idea of seeing Angie in the tight leather/latex/pvc outfit would have me looking to buy my ticket right now. Michelle Pfeiffer was great in the part in Batman Returns, but Angie could really make this role her own. Christopher Nolan always picks the right actor for the part, and i think she has the acting chops to make it interesting.

Looking at pics of the current comic version of Catwoman i think the suit itself would be a good fit. What do you guys think?

I know she has her detractors but she would totally own this role.

I'll be looking forward to this. She'll be a perfect fit in every way.

If true....

But it is the internet so I won't get my hopes up until I see some real proof.

Well this concerns me:

"The 33-year-old actress ... is said to be in final negotiations with studio bosses to play the feline villain who first appeared in the Batman comics."
Studio Bosses? Has Christopher Nolan told these asshats that he is, indeed, doing Batman Begins 3 and that Catwoman will feature in the film?

If not, then this smacks of Spider-Man 3, and we all know how that turned out. Leave it to fucking studio execs to dip their hands in the kitchen where they don't fucking belong.

Step 1 - find a director.
Step 2 - Approve a script.
Step 3 - Show him the money
Step 4 - Fuck off home until it's time to collect the returns.

Christ, does this irk me.

I agreed...

But I believe she will play in Catwoman 2, not Nolan's Batman.

While I think Jolie would do an excellent job in the role, to me she's too "obvious" for the part. I expect an out-of-left-field choice for that part (if Catwoman is even in the next one), kinda like Heath Ledger was unexpected but perfect for the part of Joker. To me, Catwoman needs to be beautiful but broken. Not sure who could pull that off effectively.

Sorry for quoting myself, but I am THIS annoyed (and we have virtually two identical threads going).

That's a BANG Showbiz story. They're a bunch of forward-thinking people who report on the news as it happens inside their heads. Just google "Bang showbiz" and you'll see the uninformed dreck they pass off as "news" - and I'm sure, a few retractions. They're worse than Contact Music.

Just rumor-mongers hoping for a score. Ignore it.

Good, that's a relief. I'm not against Jolie as Catwoman, I just don't want to studio pissing off Nolan by fucking with his cast before he even agrees to do another film. That's the kind of shit that's apt to make him walk right away.

I hate Jolie. I think im the only person to not find her attractive. She would do nothing but bring the movie down. Alot of times when someone seems "perfect" for the role they fuck it up because they dont truly get into the charecter, they just sort of be themselves

I hope it doesn't happen. She seems as ill-suited for this as she was for Lara Croft (although, in all fairness, those movies had more going agains them than simple miscasting). If she has to be in the franchise, I can picture her in a throwaway Poison Ivy cameo during a teaser action sequence but not as Catwoman.

I have faith in whoever Nolan would pick for the 3rd movie. I laughed when I originally heard Ledger was going to be the Joker and thought Nolan was losing his mind, but I have to admit.....I WAS WRONG!

She could be great as Catwoman, but she's too famous and brings too much tabloid baggage. I agree with the previous poster that I'd rather Nolan pick someone unexpected. Think of who he's cast as the villains so far in this series and how unpredictable it's been:

Cillian Murphy as Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow
Tom Wilkinson as Carmine Falcone
Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul
Eric Roberts as Sal Maroni
Heath Ledger as The Joker
Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face

Solid choices all around(half of them are former Oscar nominees), but no one could've guessed any of them would be the ones cast in the parts. I hope he keeps up the unorthodox selections for Batman 3.

By only listing villians you are leaving out a couple of the biggest names in Hollywood, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, so he has used big talent before. I also can't agree with tabloid baggage. Maybe when she was with Billy Bob, but not recently. She's adopted kids, had a few of her own and donates millions to charity every year. Not exactly baggage these days. She's a huge draw for men and women.

Or look at it another way, Nolan sucks at casting women. He's 0 for 2 in the Batman franchise alone. Maybe it's time to cast someone a bit more well known.

You're not the only person...

I would rather cast Judi Dench. She's spry for her age.

I don't want to hear any rumors about the casting of Catwoman until Nolan and Bale are signed on. Nolan needs to be making these decisions not executives. And I'm sticking to the idea that someone made in the other thread about Audrey Tatou. Casting catwoman shouldn't be about who looks smokin' in a rubber suit... unless Nolan brings back the bat nipples.

I'd take Charlize or Angelina. Neither would get a complaint out of me.

Cast either one and Nolan wouldn't need nipples on the suit.
