Guess the Tomatometer for The Happening

I don't think it was nobody believed you, some of us just didn't think it was a funny trailer. And for what it's worth, most of the parts of the trailer are referenced as the good, creepy parts. It just has nowhere to go from there.

I skipped this one in the theatres but just had to see this movie. I still have faith in M. Night and I enjoyed everything up until Lady In The Water...
Maybe it was my low expecations or maybe its just something about Night's work that I enjoy but I thought The Happening was a decent movie. There were some really intense moments that I loved. The problem with the movie was that there was no substance to it and there was no resolution. I think Night wanted to leave behind the stigma that there needs to be a twist ending and decided to just have no ending whatsoever. That was the downfall of the movie if you ask me.

I liked The Happening more than any of his other movies, with the exception of The Sixth Sense and Signs (my favorite). Maybe it was on par with The Village. It's good, not great.
I said this elsewhere, and I'll say this again: you can't complain about "bad" acting in Shyamalan films. This is how he directs his actors. It's like faulting Mamet actors for uttering ridiculous dialogue.

Saw this on Bluray today. The answer to what's happening is...not much. I found it pretty boring. A few shots of people offing themselves right in the opening scene is supposed to set the tone of the mvie but it never really takes off. Fortunately it was only 85 minutes and not any longer I wasted.
