Wow, that is shocking. He wasn't one of my favorite directors, but he was one of my favorite actors. He will be missed.

One of the few directors I actually like as an actor.

Wow. I remember seeing him in Michael Clayton and thought he looked pretty healthy. That sucks.

Wow!! I am stunned. The story said he died of cancer, but I have to wonder if how bad it was for him to continue working up until last year. He looked fine in Michael Clayton.

Just saw this on CNN. Really liked Pollack as an actor, as well as a director.

Stomach cancer, to be exact. He's been sick for a while. I remember reading last fall that he was terminally ill.

Yes, this is expected news but very sad nonetheless. It's funny because I was thinking about him last night -- heard he was very ill a few months ago and hadn't heard anything since.

I liked him as a director and even more as an actor.

Damn, I hate to see anyone die that young (73 is definitely too young to die).

I've only watched one of his movies, but what a movie! The Yakuza, with Robert Mitchum and Ken Takakura. That really is a great movie!

I really liked him in "Eyes Wide Shut," even if that movie's generally panned.

I probably appreciated him more for his acting roles than his directing. He'll surely be missed. Sidney
