Looks like it could be kind of fun.

I heard about this awhile back.

I like anything LeBeouf is in. I'm there.

I'll see this one for sure. Shia has been pretty solid in his choices of late and I thought Disturbia was much better than it deserved to be, so I'll check out anything DJ Caruso is doing...

Like half the cast has been in The Shield, 24, or Law & Order.

They.. sunk a shitload of money into this. Looks fun.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the theatrical trailer was the first season of 24 when Jack is pretty much kidnapped through cameras and cellphones.

No doubt. I wouldn't even mind seeing more Monaghan. It's just a shame i'd have to sit through some Lebouf to accomplish those things..

Full trailer looks even better - this movie has 'smash hit' written all over it.

Is it just me or does it look a lot like Enemy of the State? Not that that's a bad thing. Enemy was actually a pretty fun action flick.

Wow. Billy Bob, Ethan Embry, and Exec. Produced by Spielberg.

This looks phenomenal.

I had forgotten about the little teaser put out a bit ago. The full trailer looks pretty damn cool.

I'd be so much more excited for this if LeBeef wasn't in it. Still looks cool though, good to see Ethan Embry still working.

Billy Bob AND Ethan Embry? How'd they manage to pull that off?!

I liked Disturbia for what it was, effective through performance and direction. This looks like that, only moreso, minus the occasionally annoying Asian sidekick and the mildly charismatic girl next door.

Oh, phew! I was trying to figure out who R. Dawson was. I thought Richard was making a comeback.

Only in a rerun.

I can't wait for this movie to come out this week, I haven't seen a good action thriller in awhile so I'm looking forward to this. Great cast and the looks like it'll have lots of action. Its also in IMAX so all the better. (I'm a recent IMAX convert)

I thought the trailer was not impressive, but a friend of mine read the script and said it was phenomenal. I don't hate Shia, but I don't love him. And I can't help but count the amount of times he says "No no no no no!"

This movie has the best trailer I've ever seen. I think I'm gonna eat some weed-brownies with the lady friend on Sunday and see this, it looks trippy.

4 days before release and only 2 reviews up at Rotten Tomatoes, 1 being negative.

Even the positive one isn't so positive:

"Lagging behind the times in technology, politics, and ideas, Caruso's suspense-thriller should have been made five years ago, when exec-producer Spielberg first came up with the concept; even so, the first reel is dangerous and menacing."

The other one is even more negative.

Saw a preview screening last night. Here is a review I wrote up for my blog.

http://thefilmstage.blogspot.com/200...ye-review.html

D.J. Caruso's Eagle Eye brought one of the best trailers I've seen for a film in recent years. It's disappointing the film doesn't live up to the promised mystery and suspense. Shia Lebouf brings his usual charm and a little more heart than seen in his other adventure this year. Michelle Monaghan plays a single mother "activated" by Eagle Eye and motivated to save her son. She tends to bring the most laughs, unintended or not, especially in a certain shotgun wielding scene. Billy Bob Thornton plays his usual self as a wisecracking government agent chasing Lebouf through countless obstacles. If one though the big brother overtones in The Dark Knight were over the top, I can't describe how ridiculous the themes in this film are. An interesting premise at first becomes tired out when we are introduced to the government "eagle eye" project. A film like this should be pure popcorn adrenaline fueled fun, instead it becomes too big for its own good by tackling themes that should be reserved for films that have some type of character development. With that said when the action comes it delivers. Shia and Michelle are involved in series of events "impossible" to escape, only to be aided by the mysterious eagle eye voice at the last second. It's fun, mindless and will warrant your ticket purchase. If you can forget the overbearing political themes than you have an enjoyable thriller that will keep you entertained.

6 out of 10

Sounds really boring. I think I have 39 movies in my collection with almost the same plot. Yawn
