Did anyone catch this?
Spoiler:
When Mary and John were fighting in the street and people were running for cover there was someone or something running with them that appeared to be 10-12 foot tall, slim build, and was hunched over as it/he/she ran for cover. What the hell was that? The only thing I could think of was one of those stilt-walkers like you see at a carnival but I didn't see one earlier in the movie.

Saw this over the weekend and I really liked it. And sadly, as much as I liked Superman Returns, I found myself thinking some of the "super" sequences in this film would've looked even cooler in a Superman universe.

I did notice that, and I wondered the same thing...was it somebody on stilts? Like one of the studio hands working on those stilts to put up equipment or something?

Yeah, no kidding. It was weird. The background of that shot was dark and a little out of focus so all you could see was basically silhouettes.

It was the scene on Hollywood and Highland, right? If so, I believe there is a guy out there who walks around on stilts.

Just saw this. I don't understand the 38% at Rotten Tomatoes. I thought it was a good, fun film. It had great action, Will Smith was fun as the asshole, and I had no problem with the twist. Thumbs up. B+

I just rented this. Not as bad as I expected. I thought it was good actually. Peter Berg is a pretty good overall director, able to handle action, drama, and humor. Maybe he should direct the next James Bond.

Did anyone think this scene was funny:
Spoiler:
when Charlize Theron meets Will Smith to talk about being the other superhero, I found it pretty funny that Theron gets all sexed up all of a sudden, looking really hot, with her bra hanging out of some sexy femme fatale jacket. I certainly didn't mind it, but I thought it was too sudden. It's as if the secret of her being a superhero wasn't the main secret, the main secret was that she was tired of being a housewife and she was some horny sex bomb waiting to come out of the closet...

So I just started watching the unrated cut of this film (local rental place got it early). I never saw the theatrical cut and had to confirm the scene with the girl and the trailer
Spoiler:
where he climaxes and blows holes in the roof
wasn't in the PG-13 version, as I just couldn't picture that happening.

Concerning the girl and the trailer, that was Hancock's laserbeams that comes out of his eyes like Superman, you sick people...

Is it just me or has the marketing campaign completely changed for this film? I don't remember mention of
Spoiler:
Charlize Theron
in the theatrical ads at all.

Hey it's pretty damn suggestive either way.

The theatrical ads were careful not to mention
Spoiler:
Charlize Theron to avoid spoilers
, they generally don't care once it hits video.

As for the movie, entertaining for the most part but the last bit is extremely, annoyingly rushed.

Liked it until the twist. WTF?
Now I know what everyone meant when they saw it in the theater.

I really enjoyed this more than I thought it would. I wished the delved into the backstory more though.

Watched it the other night. Wasn't bad, but wasn't anything to write home about either. It was just kinda there. I was with it the whole first act, then it went downhill. They give us this huge build up of Hancock becoming a true superhero instead of a sloppy drunk and redeeming himself only to give us one scene of him being a superhero? Then it's off to the races with the angels/plot twist and some forced CGI tornadoes and mayhem. Also there is that little bit about not having any kind of true villain (oooh in the closing act we see Nameless Thug #1 return with a hook!) which kinda hurt it as well. It was kind of a mess but it was still decent. Nothing I'd sit through again though.

I just got this on a trade today, and just finished watching it. I have to agree with you whole-heartedly. While there were good and bad things, it was a mess.

I watched the theatrical version, but I will watch the unrated version before I put it up for trade.

I liked it, but not enough to keep it.

Is that in the Unrated version? I haven't watched that version yet.
