I wonder what the odds are that Hayden's character will be a cheerleader ...

Emma Roberts is an absolutely terrible choice for the lead. I just lost a lot of interest in this. I could handle her in a supporting role, but not as someone who is poised to carry the next two films. Way to shit the bed, casting director. That Twilight chick was worlds better.

re: Scream 4 (Craven, 2011) - script by Williamson
I know some people are jazzed that this is a sequel, and not a remake, and I hope it doesn't suck as badly as I'm expecting it to... but the series was fine with just one film. I wish they'd never done any of the sequels. 2 was ok, but 3 was horrid.

re: Scream 4 (Craven, 2011) - script by Williamson
Actually, I liked the second and parts of the first but hated the third. I think Emma Roberts is very talented and I think she can carry the film. However, the third left such a sour taste in my mouth that I can only muster enough interest for a rental.

re: Scream 4 (Craven, 2011) - script by Williamson
I'm not expecting a masterpiece, but I am expecting a solid entry that does justice to the franchise. From everything I've heard, this has a chance to be really good, but I'm keeping my expectatatins in check.
The first one is the most well made, feels the freshest, but I find the sequels a little more fun to watch overall. I think it was mostly about the concept in the original. The sequels were more about the characters. I felt they really had a lot of fun with these characters in the sequels. |

Lauren Graham has joined the cast, according to /Film.com;
Graham will be playing Kate, the mother of Emma Roberts‘ character Jill Kessler. |

Actors are amazing. They've signed on to this movie. They haven't even gotten a script yet. I guess they get most of it on the set. They're still casting, too. Filming begins next week. I wouldn't think there's any time for rehearsal. It's amazing actors can still give decent performances, and have decent chemistry, under these conditions.

http://www.seriesadictos.com/wp-cont...ren-graham.jpg I know I'm in the minority here, but I didn't like the first or second Scream. I just didn't get the love for the first one and had figured early on the twist. Oddly, I liked the third one. It sort of reminded me of one of three stooges horror shorts with all the secret doors. (At least, I think I recall secret passages in the house playing a factor in the finale. It's been a while since I seen the flick.) |

/Film is reporting that Anthony Anderson and Marielle Jaffe have joined the cast. No confirmation on who they're playing, but /Film speculates based on previously released character descriptions;
Anderson has played a cop on Law and Order and The Shield, so I’m guessing he plays one of the two detective roles: DETECTIVE HOSS (MALE 30s-40s; any ethnicity) New school cop. College graduate raised on the CSI TV series. NAME CAMEOS PREFERRED; DETECTIVE PERKINS (MALE 30s-40s; any ethnicity) Old school cop. Cocky, bigoted, and snarky. NAME CAMEOS PREFERRED; 20-year-old California model turned actress Jaffe likely plays one of the new teens: OLIVIA MORRIS (17-18; any ethnicity) Sexy and hot. A fun girl who knows how to be bitchy without being a bitch. She finds a way to make every situation about her, but somehow does it in a charming way. Part of the Jill, Kirby, Charlie, Trevor friend group; BETTE (20s; any ethnicity) Sidney’s personal assistant. Type A who gets the job done. Secretly yearns for Sidney’s fame and fortune; REBECCA (17-18; any ethnicity) Cute, vain, over-achieving student at Woodsboro High School. Editor in Chief of the high school newspaper. She’s a future Gale Weathers. |

Yea for Lauren Graham.

re: Scream 4 (Craven, 2011) - script by Williamson
I liked the first one a lot. Can't say the same for the sequels. Going into a forth film in a series is always risky business, especially with horror movies. I hope it isn't too "teen friendly".

Anthony Anderson will die guaranteed in this movie

'Scream 4' sees Brody, Shelton and Knudsen as fresh blood (exclusive) Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen have joined the cast of “Scream 4,” which reunites Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who kicked off a horror movie revival with his “Scream” script in 1996. The film will bring back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the plan is to pass the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, namely Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Nico Tortorella. Brody will play a cop recently graduated from college who was raised on the “CSI” TV series. Shelton will play a deputy who knew Campbell’s character in high school. Lake Bell had been in negotiations for the role. Knudsen will have a role similar to the one played by Jamie Kennedy in the first two installments, a character who is familiar with horror movie conventions and a provider of comic relief. To preserve the identity of the killer, Craven and Williamson are operating under several layers of secrecy, including not sending the script to agencies. At a table read last week, the actors were told to stop reading at page 75 to prevent even those already cast in the film from knowing the climax. Shooting began this week in Michigan. The UTA-repped Brody recently wrapped ensemble indie drama “The Oranges,” which also stars Hugh Laurie and Leighton Meester. He stars in “The Romantics,” an ensemble romantic comedy that also stars Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin and Elijah Wood which is slated to open this fall. Shelton, repped by UTA and Untitled, starred in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced CBS series “Eleventh Hour” and was most recently seen in director Sebastian Gutierrez’s ensemble comedy “Women in Trouble,” which premiered at the 2009 South by Southwest Film Festival. Other credits include “Planet Terror” and “Sin City.” Toronto-born Knudsen appears in August release “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the Bryan Lee O’Malley graphic novel series, as well as “Beastly,” a CBS Films fantasy romance. The actor, repped by Gersh, Joannie Burstein and Fountain Head Talent, was seen in “Youth in Revolt” and was a regular on CBS’ “Jericho.” |

From Shock Till You Drop:
The cast is dropping like flies before their characters (possibly) get killed in Scream 4. The same site that broke the news about actress Lauren Graham's participation in the Wes Craven sequel is now reporting she is bowing out. Ghouls on Film says the reasons are date conflicts and script changes. Graham isn't the first to walk away. Lake Bell departed the project last week. |
re: Scream 4 (Craven, 2011) - script by Williamson
Not Lake Bell!
