The biggest problem I have with Kruger is that he's already had a shot at this franchise and, for most viewers it was by far the worst in the series. Even the critics agreed:

Rottentomatoes scores for the series
Scream - 82%
Scream 2 - 80%
Scream 3 - 38%

I'd rather have them give it to someone new and untested than someone who has already disappointed.

Doesn't mean anything. I think Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan are a bunch of one-note hacks who nearly ruined the Saw franchise after both IV and V, which all agree with were the worst of the franchise. They were even invited back after their three-picture deal to helm VII. How VI was any good is beyond me, I'm assuming it was all in the hands of Kevin Greutert. Let's see if his hostility against Lionsgate and Twisted will affect VII.

I don't.

^Me either (III and V were the worst IMO) but that's for another thread. Don't like hearing the Kreuger has been brought in on this one, but if Williamson is too busy with TVD I guess it could have been worse. (I'm still trying to imagine how, but it's too early in the morning).

It's a movie from the Weinsteins...it's bound to have script problems.

http://www.thehdroom.com/news/Kriste...-4-Cameos/7338

True Blood's Anna Paquin and former Heroes actress Kristen Bell are confirmed by Dimension Films to make an appearance in Wes Craven's Scream 4.
Both actresses are expected to make brief cameos that will likely - though unconfirmed - be cut short by Mr. Ghostface. For True Blood fans, Anna not escaping a near-death experience could take some getting used to.

Scream 4 is currently in production and is scheduled to arrive in theaters next April. It stars original Scream survivors Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette alongside newcomers Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Marielle Jaffe, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, Erik Knudsen, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Marley Shelton, Alison Brie and Mary McDonnell.

Bell and Paquin=my ass in a seat. making them have "cameos" prob means they will be the first victims in the opening set piece

I love the news that both Kristin Bell and Anna Paquin will be in this.

Yep, it's almost a given that they will be the opening kills since the press releases went out of their way to specify they have "brief cameos".

The guy has worked with Martin Scorsese, he's not good enough for the Scream franchise?

You might change your opinion of him if you ever watch The Shield.

Agreed. His performance on that show more than made up for some of his other roles.

Someone in the core three of this series (Neve, Courtney, and David) has to die in this latest movie. Something's gotta shake it up.

I think too many fans, or whatever's left of them, will scream that taking that route will be a copout or disappointment.

I'm sure Dewey will end up a paraplegic by the end of this new trilogy.

even from that angle it looks lame. Going to skip this unless it gets excellent reviews or something.
