Thought there was something about that background I've seen before.

John Callen as Oin and Peter Hambleton as Gloin in Warner Bros. Pictures' The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - 2012

Distant cousins of Thorin Oakenshield, these two doughty Northern Dwarves join the Company out of a sense of loyalty to their kin, and also because they have a substantial sum of money invested in the venture. Along with Bombur, Gloin is the only other married Dwarf in the Company (there being a shortage of female dwarves in general). His wife is an acclaimed beauty with a particularly fine beard. Gloin is the proud father of a young son, Gimli, who will go on to become part of the famous Fellowship of the Ring.

Re: The Hobbit

I could look at these production photos all day. The level of detail is fantastic.

Re: The Hobbit

As long as it features songs sung by Glen Yarbrough(?), I'm in.

Re: The Hobbit

These "photos" are weirding me out. Have they been DNRed to death, or are they actually wax figures, or what...

Re: The Hobbit

You guys are overthinking these pics, of course they're photoshopped to death, they're publicity shots. Looking past that, I can see that Jackson and company are on the right track for the correct feel that this movie needs and keeps me optimistic.

I had no idea Andy Serkis was a second-unit director on this.

Re: The Hobbit

Too many actors, producers, travels, age, and variables for my taste! A 2+ month break and there'll be another one or two of these? With all the troubles this production had getting started, this is just asking for tragedy.

Re: The Hobbit

Bad photoshopping or not, those publicity photos make it clear Jackson is keeping a similar look to the LOTR films, and that's a good thing.

Right, cause getting the LOTR trilogy up and running was a walk in the park right?

That's the past. Just because things didn't happen then doesn't mean they won't now. Try to be less realistic or optimistic, please. This is the internet (where things are super-serious, m'kay?)

Well, this is Fili and Kili. They are still just "children" among dwarves, after all. Only thing is, I thought they both were supposed to have yellow hair and beards.
