It can vary for certain types of film, but lately I'm loving 1.78:1, and that's because I have an HDTV. Before then, and still now, I loved 2.35:1. My favorite director's all seem to use that aspect, but having a 1.78:1 picture fills my entire screen and it's still widescreen, so that's my current fav right now.
