It was certainly more stupid than I expected going in, but I still left the theater happy (twice).

I like pizza.

The best is the NY style pizza my local pizzaria makes, but I also like the slop that comes from Dominos or Pizza Hut. Hell, I even eat some frozen Tony's pizza once a week.

While they are all considered pizza I don't compare the local pizza joint to the frozen pizza. If I did I would only eat the local stuff. I can appreciate all of these foods for what they are, although each is very different.

That's my opinion on pizza. And a pizza has never raped my childhood.

You think a better script is Optimus reading Thoreau? I'd settle for something that doesn't sound like it was written by a marketing department.

It just seems like a lot of people were hoping this would be some sort of reinvention of the sci-fi genre... some sort of Philip K. dick Orwellion masterpiece that would make Blade Runner look like Brain Candy... It's a movie based off of a toy line - And a damned fun one at that.

Watched at work on my portable 10" screen. Got it for free at Redbox and wasn't even remotely interested in watching it (or anything else on that particular day). Popped it in and from the first minute I was engaged. It was AWESOME. Blew my expectations. And I'm not a Transformer fan. Can't wait to rewatch it on HD on the 40" HDTV 1080p Will pick it up once it's $20 or so.

I watched the movie last night and frankly it was better than I thought it was going to be. I was one of the people that was upset with most of the changes that Bay was making during the production of this movie especially in regards to the robots design.

However, the movie is nowhere near perfection that some of the posters are indicating in this thread, this movie is flawed but it has enough enjoyment especially in the regards to the special effects to give it a C+ grade.

I don't think anyone said it was perfect. We simply enjoy it for what it is. Hell, can anyone even name one perfect movie? There is no such animal.

Only because you asked, I can name at least 5, though I'm sure some will disagree, they're perfect to me: Godfathers 1&2, Lawrence of Arabia, Citizen Kane, Big Lebowski... I can name a lot more - maybe I just have low standards...

You can stay pretty far from the realm of perfection and still name a whole lot of movies better than this one.

I just mean they're perfect for a movie, in that there's nothing that can be done to them to make them any better. Apocalypse Now would be another one, and adding that stuff in Redux actually made it imperfect.

Watching the movie again, I didn't notice this the first time, but what did Prime grab out of Megatron's chest after he was "killed"?

Sure and that's the great thing about this site. This is certainly not a Transformers love ONLY thread. But at the same time, I still don't get why the ones who didn't like this movie feel the need to shit on the OPINIONS of those who liked it?

My wife and kids saw this in the theater, and raved about it. One of them proclaimed it "the best movie of the year so far!". So I was really looking forward to seeing it on dvd.
Maybe my expectations were simply too high. This was one of the most painful movies I've ever sat through. Action has never been so boring. As the movie began we could already see the beginning, middle, and end of this story. No surprises. None.
The transforming was ridiculous. Pieces spinning, parts moving in numbers and quantity that were impossible to believe.
The biggest problem with realizing the ending when your still watching the beginning is that you have to wait. And wait I did. This movie wasn't just boring and aweful. It was LONG, boring, and aweful.
Thanks for letting me vent.....I feel better now. Still disappointed though.

I am older than the target audience of the movie, but I do keep the kid in me. Children's movies can still have a good plot. "The Incredibles" for example is a kids movie that was a very good movie for anyone of any age. "Snakes On A Plane" is a bad movie no matter what your age. "Transformers" is like the latter. I guess what happened to me is I got caught up in the hype, and expected too much. And when you see the name Steven Spielberg you expect more.
