Hot Rod
Just saw the trailer for Andy Samberg's new movie and it looks hilarious. I love his digital shorts on SNL and I'm glad to see him with a starring role in a movie. The trailer cracks me up every time...I love his cape! haha
here is the trailer if you havent seen it yet:

"Hot Rod" is a good time; I'd put it third behind "Knocked Up" and "Superbad" in terms of summer comedies. It's much more "Napoleon Dynamite"-ish than the others, with the first two acts are funnier than the last. Ian McShane is awesome.

Just watched it tonight and it had it's moments (mostly with Rod's friends) but if I would have paid for it I would have been really pissed. I wasn't really expecting a whole lot, so no biggie and there was some really funny parts in the 1st half the film, the second half was just really bizarre and not really funny at all. (Grilled Cheese Sandwich vs Taco??)

...Maybe if Roddy Piper was actually in this movie it would actually be worth seeing I like Will Arnett but Andy Samberg & Bill Hader is too much unfunny for me.

It was fairly bad. Might have been a good short, or hilarious extended skit on SNL, but a full movie, no. I laughed out loud more in the Bourne Ultimatum (which was awesome by the way).

Caught this Friday night when Bourne was sold out. Surprisingly, I didn't hate it as much as I thought I may.
It had that early Sandler-era, anything goes kinda humor going on. I dug that. I felt like the theater of teeny boppers didn't care for it as much. I thought it was the little random throw away jokes, like the EMTs talking in the driveway or the riot in the street that were the funniest gags in the film -- rather than just seeing Samberg hurt himself.

I enjoyed this more than I thought from the trailer. It had some very cute and humorous moments. I think this movie had a bad trailer as I was pleased with what was in the movie.

The main thing that was funny to me was the dancing bit outside the convenience store, right before the girl (Isla Fisher's character) gets picked up by Will Arnett's character.

Cool beans.
As someone who has been a fan of The Lonely Island for years, I loved the flick. Great cameos from their crew members (Akiva plays the guy who gives Hader's character acid and Chester plays the dancing Asian guy) along with sly nods to their previous efforts ("Cool Beans" and "HOOBASTANK!").
The film might run 15 minutes too long (it would've been a better blast if it clocked in around 70 minutes), but I had a whole lot of fun watching it. It's no Knocked Up or Hot Fuzz, but it's a great time nonetheless.

I was both drunk and stoned when I saw this movie and it still wasn't funny. This was a case of everything that was funny was shown in the trailer. I think I laughed out loud three times. The rest was pretty dull and painful and the audience seemed to feel the same way.

I thought it was random, bizarre and fucking hilarious. Not an instant classic, but I think with repeat viewings and certainly when it hits disc it'll find it's audience and be quoted for a while to come. I loved the scene where Rod 'punch dances' his rage away, his '2 legit to quit' speech, the riot and the scenes with Samburg and McShane were great. Very funny stuff. Isla Fisher was looking extremely cute and Will Arnett was awesome as usual.
