AFI Top 100, Version 2.0: What films from the last 10 years will make it in?

If it was up to me Léon (The Professional) would be added to the AFI Top 100 as well.
Now that I think about it I'd say that the only reason that Léon isn't already on the list is because of the French ties, even though it's in English.

Of the new ones listed I wana see:
Fight Club
Good Night and Good Luck
Good Will Hunting
Memento
Saving Private Ryan
those are some of my favorite movies of the past few years though Good Will hunting is far behind the others.

So if 6 new movies are put on there, Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas get kicked off?(Unless they move up?) Is it possible for them to move up or would the that be admitting they screwed up the first time?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Lord of the Rings: Shitty
Lost in Translation
Rushmore
Three Kings
Those would be my choices, although I'd bet "Shitty" is the only one that makes it.

I second all the love for Almost Famous. I think it's by far the most underrated movie of the last decade.
As for foreign movies, both Amelie and City of God are deserving.
And I've resigned to the fact that one of the elf movies will get in...it will probably be "Shittiest."
Good question about which ones will get kicked out...some possibilities:
Unforgiven
A Place in the Sun
Pulp Fiction
One of the Chaplins...probably Modern Times
And looking back at the list...how in the world is The Godfather, Part II only #32?!? I thought it was much higher. It needs to be.

Why is everyone thinking Pulp Fiction will be the one to get axed?

Okay, here's a question... obviously they are including films this time that weren't around last time. But are they re-evaluating the entire list? Meaning is it possible there were some movies that were around when the first list was assembled, were under consideration at the time (or just slipped their mind) and didn't make the cut, but might make it this time?

From that dismal list I would only include the following:
The Insider
L.A. Confidential
Mystic River
There are a number of films such as Do the Right Thing, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Dead Man, Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, Mulholland Dr., or 25th Hour that are head and shoulders above almost anything else on the loist of nominees.

Here's the previous list: http://cinepad.com/awards/afi_100.htm
The new list can be downloaded at the AFI's site: http://connect.afi.com
BTW, Almost Famous is not being considered.

And yes, the entire 100 is up for grabs again. They just repopulated the list of 400 nominees to include stuff from the last decade. So this new list will be completely different...expect to see a LOT of movement.

There are probably others.
Two more that I believe should be added are Chaplin's The Great Dictator and The Shawshank Redemption.
While TGD isn't even on the nominated list, TSR was and I think that enough time has gone by for it to be recognized on this list. TSR has aged so well, and as time goes by it seems like more and more people view it as an American classic.
