"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"...the reviews thread.
i'm surprised there haven't been any early reviews for this, not sure if that is a good sign.
i for one am looking forward to it as the dissappointment of "Spider-Man 3" starts to dissapate.
these long movies sometimes can be tedious and @ 167min this one will sure test the limits.
eh, if this one doesn't work out, we still have "Knocked Up" a week later to look forward to, though some are questioning its' length as well.
also, "POTC: Dead Man's Chest" makes its priemere on STARZ, i believe, tonight.

I hope this is good, I went into Dead Man's Chest with low expectations and was still disappointed by how boring it was.

The reason there haven't been any reviews is because the movie has not been screened yet - for anyone. As of last week, they were still trying to finish the post processes.
I can't recall any movies in recent memory that were sprinting to finish line that didn't end up with some major flaws (not all bad...just flawed because of the rush). I guess we'll see next weekend how this one goes.

Still trying to finish post production on the Movie? Are you crazy? I hope you don't believe the hype when you hear reports that a movie is going to be released in over 4,000 theatres and they are still working on finishing it 2 weeks before it comes out...Last week the film was ready to go out to theatres for delivery. All theatres will have the film by tuesday afternoon. I remember when I was a kid and on the news they were talking about how The Abyss was comming out in 4 days and they were still working on the f/x for it...even then I knew it was B.S. and just P.R.

The first press screenings ever happened last week in Hollywood. A bunch of reviews were posted on Aint-it-Cool-News.
The overall consensus was that the movie was good, but it was a bit darker than the previous ones, with some humor missing. Also, I noticed at least 2 reviews mention that there is so much plot that they actually were very confused by the film.

Fucking hated the second one so I pray this is like the first. The running time scares me though. Two hours and 50 minutes? Come on now!

Wow. I thought it was by far one of the worst major studio releases in the last 5 years. I know everyone has a different opinion but I can't imagine it being at the top of anyone's list. I know it made a lot of money but I thought that was just due to how good & popular the first release was.

Wow, these Dead Man's Chest haters are really coming out of the woodwork. It wasn't the best movie of 2006, but if it's the worst, what did you see? That, Pan's Labyrinth, and Children of Men?

I'm not getting my hopes up. After how much people on here bashed Spider-Man 3 I'm quite expecting the same response. People on here just expect too much.

Hell, even Spider-man 3 in all its inifinite corniness was at least entertaining.
In terms of '06 overall though, naw, gotta remember The Promise came out last year.

I feel that Dead Man's Chest had The Matrix Reloaded-syndrome. It's the first of a two-parter, but it felt like 45-minutes (if not more) could've been trimmed to make things speedier and ultimately more entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but the pace was moving a tad too slow in some parts.
If it follows suit in my Matrix trilogy comparison, At World's End should be a better, more entertaining film. However, Matrix Revolutions also happened to be shorter than that of Reloaded. World's End happens to be almost a half-an-hour longer.

Yeah I just watched DMC for the 2nd time yesterday and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I remember liking it in theaters, but I REALLY liked it during the 2nd viewing. Very much anticipating number 3 now.
