1. Spider-man 3 - $375 million
-I think this will match part 2. I would've guessed higher, but with Shrek and Pirates following, I don't think it'll reach $400 million. It's opening on the largest amount of theaters in history, although it also has a 140 minute runtime. Even though it's getting worse ratings than the previous 2, I think it'll be the top film. X3 was much worse than it's predecessors, yet still earned more just from pure hype. Same goes for Spidey.

2. Shrek 3 - $350 million
-What does this have going for it? Successful franchise, kid's flick, 80 minute running time. Which means it'll be playing ALL....DAY....LONG. No way this tops part 2's $440 million take. But, it'll still earn plenty of green. It does have tough competition with Spidey and Pirates, who are going after the same audience.

3. Pirates 3 - $340 million

4. Harry Potter 5 - $275 million

5. Transformers - $215 million

6. The Bourne Ultimatum - $200 million

1-Pirates 3: $355mil (winner even if I didn't guesss the correct $ amount)

I think Spidey 3 will end up in the high $200s. I think Shrek may win this out, as much as I hope it doesn't.

Wow, looks like nobody has any faith in Rush Hour 3. I think that'll definitely be one of the top money makers.

There are seriously too many big movies coming out this summer. I don't even have to guess what the rest will make.

I'm going with Pirates coming out on top this summer, followed by Spidey and Shrek.

Pirates, then Spidey. I think Shrek's been played out. It's pretty much the animated version of the "_____ Movies" that rely mostly on sight-gags and parodies instead of its own story line.

Couldn't agree more with that, but people still go see that mofo over and over for some reason.

I tend to do poorly on these because I'm so out of touch with what's popular, but I'll say Spider-Man 3 slightly above Pirates of the Carribean, with Shrek, reluctantly, after that.

I don't see Rush Hour 3 being all that popular (although I did warn you I don't have my finger on the pulse of the public). Jackie Chan hasn't had a hit in a while, and do people even remember who Chris Tucker is?

Its hard to pick between Spidey and Pirates, but Im going to just pick Spiderman for the hell of it. I think Transformers will be top heavy and bottom out quick because I have a feeling it will have bad word of mouth.

Plus, Harry Potter opens the week after. Transformers needs to have a huge 5-day opening.

Which of the movies opens the weekend before Memorial Day weekend? That's the one I think wins. Huge opening weekend, plus the enormous holiday weekend that follows.

I think it's Shrek, but I'm not sure.

Pirates, then Shrek, then Spiderman.

Going to be Shrek. 86 minutes vs. over two hours for both Spidey and Pirates. It will be close, however.

I forgot about The Simpsons. That will bank.

I picked Pirates 2 last year, and it won, so I guess I'm going to have to go with Pirates 3 this year.

I worry they may have overloaded this summer with so many big releases that there may be some level of burnout, and some movies that otherwise would have done well will be disappointments because of the sheer quantity out there. Or maybe some less-hyped film that would have been a sleeper in another year will be unfairly overlooked. But who knows.

It's going to be a huge summer at the box-office. Something for everyone. Here's how I predict all the bigger titles (in order of release):

My mind is blank. Aside from Fred Claus, what other "big" movies are opening in the Fall/Winter? Harry Potter 4 did quite well when it released in November. I wonder why none of these big budget sequels chose a November/December date.

What is that based on? It was filmed 2 years ago, they replaced the director and did some reshoots recently, and as far as I know there isn't even a trailer.

What is that based on? My prediction. It was finished early 2006, but was reshot in 2007 because the studio didn't like the work of the original director. The Wachowski Brothers were brought in to rewrite the script. That immediately piqued my interest. And "V is Vendetta" director James McTeigue hired to direct the new footage. In addition to that, it stars Daniel Craig. Who's coming off the red hot success of "Casino Royale". Also starring Nicole Kidman. It's also one of the few interesting movies coming out in August (IMO).
