Can anyone make a list of the "Road Movies" from back then? I have seen quite a few of them but am always interested in seeing more.

I am sure there are others than White Lightening, Gator, White Line Fever, Vanishing Point, Two Lane Blacktop etc...

or is there somewhere that has a list of the Grindhouse/Drive-inn car crash/road movies from that era?

I thought 'Don't' reminded me of Lucio Fulci's Sodoma's Ghost

You should all watch I Drink Your Blood. What's better than rabid satanic hippies? Not much.

No, no, I don't need to see that guy in another movie.

Well, the influences to me were rather obvious...

Death Proof = Driving Miss Daisy

Planet Terror = An Inconvenient Truth

If you liked Planet Terror, try Luigi Cozzi's Contamination(a/k/a Toxic Spawn) or Romero's The Crazies(a/k/a/ Code Name: Trixie)
If you like to see a protagonist who loses a limb, only to use that handicap as a weapon, try Rolling Thunder.
If you liked the Don't trailer, try Bitch Killer - starring Randolph Caer, based on the book by Garth Marenghi, produced by Dean Learner.
If you liked Death Proof, watch a few episodes of My Messy Bedroom and then punch yourself in the nuts.

for Death Proof I would Recommmend Vanishing Point. I wouldnt recommend Gone in 60 seconds (orginal) Even Through it has a long car chase. Theres no sense of speed and no suspense that Death Proof Had. I picked up Gone and sixty seconds and the car chase never felt like they were really going fast thus making the car chase pretty boring.

If you like the trailers, try 42nd Street Forever Volume 1, Volume 2, XXX

And for you cheap bastids, Extra Weird Sampler. Another compilation of grindhouse trailers for less than $5. Lots of cheap fun, but there is a "SMV" watermark in the corner of each trailer.

Thanks to the Extra Weird Sampler, I found I movie I'd been looking for that I saw at a drive-in when I was a kid. I could only remember 2 scenes but there they were in a trailer on the sampler!

Oh, the movie was Bloody Pit of Horror

along with the 42nd Street Forever XXX disc I'd also recommend Smut Palace Insanity which I bought from Xploited Cinema.
