I just cant believe the hate for Death Proof Here. The dialog isnt that bad. Theres lots of humor. Leaving the girl with the guy was fantastic. The Car stuff was unbelliable. I cant think why someone would say this was the worst movie of all time as someone here did.

Come on. Alot of reviews on rottentomatos seemed like many thought Death Proof was a better flick. I know on Ebert and Roeper, they both thought when they reviewed it twice. Roeper and the 2 guest critics both enjoyed Death Proof More.

I can see people not liking it because its a different pace then Planet terror. but its a better movie on its own. I liked the Pace and I thought the dialouge was excellent. I liked Death Proof more then Kill Bill Vol 1 and Jackie Brown.

I would give the trailers a 10/10, Planet terror 7.5/10 and Death Proof 9.5/10

Yeah, I see that a lot of people think that way, and that's fine. But for me, that last chase scene wasn't really all that, and the dialogue wasn't very good. I loved the sinister, chilling, killer that Stuntman Mike was in the first half, and felt that the second half was a totally different film. It wasn't horrible, but not nearly as good as the first half of DP for me.

Overall, I still LOVED Grindhouse for the whole feel of the 3+ hours.

I was hoping to finally see it this weekend. Any confirmation that the Weinstein's are going to split it into 2 movies? I know these movies have done horrible in the box office...Is the running time killing it?

Bloody-Disgusting said that they test screened them seperately, and the movies tested about the same, so they might not split them.

Did Kurt Russell have the scar on his face in the second half of Death Proof?

For myself, if it were split, I'd only buy Death Proof on release day.

But if they did, you know that they'd split up the fake trailers too, so you'd HAVE to buy both to get them all.

Yes, but it healed some so it's not as noticable.

It was mentioned previously that Quentin's film would get the trailers on his DVD.

I would've thought it would go like in the film:

Machete would play before Planet Terror (therefore be included on its dvd), and Werewolf Women of the S.S, Don't, and Thanksgiving would play before Death Proof (therefore the Death Proof DVD would have these three).

Maybe it will, i'm not sure. Maybe they'll just split them over the 2 discs so that some people will buy both if they only want 1 movie but all of the trailers.

It was made clear in a few articles that Machete and Planet Terror would be on the same disc, the other trailers will be on the Death Proof disc.

It was also made clear that a Kill Bill Special Edition set would come out a few years ago...

They're a couple minutes each, just put all the trailers (the 4 fake ones plus the trailers for Grindhouse) on both releases.

Just saw it again and noticed something. When Fergi is having car trouble in the beginning of Planet Terror on the radio you can hear:

Spoiler:

something along the lines of

in loving memory of jungle julia

therefore death proof takes place before planet terror(or at least the first half of dp).

at least i think.....

That would make sense....
Spoiler:
seeing some of the same characters from Planet Terror pre-end of the world in Death Proof made me wonder why they didn't show DP first then Planet Terror. It would've made more sense.

Presumably the first half of DP takes place before PT and the second half takes place after (post end of Texas).

But in Planet Terror, the world is taken over by zombies, that's why
Spoiler:
they're living in the desert at the end...

Theory:

The second half of Death Proof takes place BEFORE the first half and is Stuntman Mike's "Revenge" from what happened to him in the second half of Death Proof.

Putting both Death Proof before Planet Terror completely and the world being overtaken by Zombies.

Further, Death Proof still sucked, despite if you look at it as being in a different order.

*sigh* not THIS silly theory again...(regarding the second part of Death Proof coming before the first)

Unlikely... but it explains the scar. Still kind of a pointless gimmick.
