National Treasure 2
I did a search (regular and advanced) and didn't find a topic for this, so if I missed it... oops. :p
Anyway, this is set for release on December 21 (according to IMDb) and returns the original cast: Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger , Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel and Justin Bartha plus Helen Mirren (as Cage's mum) and Ed Harris as the new villain (this is according to Comingsoon.net: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=19602). |
this could be interesting and i liked the first one. suprised by the additional of helen mirren if you ask me. probably a decent chance of a good turnout with families since it's coming out around the holidays.

I enjoyed the first one, so I'm looking forward to this especially with all the cast back.
|
It took me a long while to watch the first "National Treasure", it was actually this January when I watched it and I enjoyed it--it was a great fun film, just bought the DVD shortly after I saw it. Plus, Diane Kruger is nice to look at ;)
I'll see the sequel ;) |

The only reason Coppola got that job is Turteltaub is exec. producer on Jericho.

According to IMDB there is no relationship with THOSE Coppolas, so there's no relationship with Cage. She is a cousin to producer Denise DiNovi, though, who is pretty big in the field.

Sounds great with new plot, keeping most of the core cast from the first, and the addition of Helen Mirren and Ed Harris. Though I really wish Sean Bean returned or at least had a cameo. :(
|
I love Helen Mirren. And I really enjoy films when Ed Harris is the bad guy. Especially in "A History of Violence".

"Fred Claus"? You're right. It probably will make a fortune. But God I hope not. I know the only trailer only available now is just a teaser, but man was that painful for me. If it is a hit, you can count on a sequel or two. Like "The Santa Clause". By the way, not to derailed the subject, what are the other Christmas releases? Mirren added to the cast of "National Treasure 2" is a classy touch. Like Cate Blanchett in the fourth "Indiana Jones". |
Nicolas Cage as the hero and Ed Harris as the villain? Is this National Treasure 2 or The Rock 2? :D
|
I'm looking forward to this maybe Disney can do a nice National Treasure 2-dvd set? Glad that Diane Kruger will be playing Abigail Chase again. I hate movie sequels that give some stupid reason why "the girl" doesn't show up in the sequel besides the plot being stupid. Can't wait!
|
I liked the first National Treasure despite Nic Cage being in it, since Sean Bean was great. Unfortunately I don't hold out much hope for this sequel.

The new teaser trailer can be seen here.

Trailer looks good! I was affraid it was going to have a forced feel to it (let's make a sequel because the first was successful), but it doesn't feel that way at all.
I was pleasantly surprised by the first - saw it on the plane a few years back. This looks like it will be just as good. Is the writer the same? |
Loved the first one, can't wait for this one to come out.
Diane Kruger  |
I loved the first movie, and this trailer looks really good. I'll definitely be there.
|
Nice. Loved the first movie, it was a great adventure film. Looking forward to this one. Thanks for the link.
|
Enjoyed the first one. Looking forward to this one.
|
It sounds like The Rock 2...I think I'll skip this and just watch The Rock instead again.
