The trailer is up on the Apple website...

http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney...bookofsecrets/

Hopefully the second one will be as "fun" as the first one.

Looks good to me, I'm in!

Original Desmond 08-05-07 07:23 AM

i enjoyed the first one and am a big nic cage fan

johnnysd 08-05-07 03:17 PM

Cage, Voight, Harris, Keitel and Mirren....that is a GREAT cast for what is essentially a popcorn flick. Will see first day.

clemente 08-05-07 03:45 PM

I was a little skeptical of the first, but it turned out just being a real fun movie. Having seen the second trailer, it doesn't look like they've tried to change the formula - so lets just hope they're successful again.

I loved the first one, and I can't stand Cage.

;)

Saw the trailer before Bourne Ultimatum and it looks pretty good!

Mr. Cinema 08-05-07 04:06 PM

I thought the first one was alot of fun. Big  to the additions of Helen Mirren, Ed Harris, and Bruce Greenwood.

Artman 08-05-07 04:36 PM

Looks like more of the same... which is good for those who liked the first one. I didn't unfortunately.

Superman07 08-05-07 05:06 PM

Bruce Greenwood means it's a winner in my book already!

porieux 08-05-07 05:32 PM

I really hated this movie so I'm sad to see this news.

Sounds like an interesting idea for a mashup:

The National Treasure Rock.

All they need is Sean Connery to portray a 198 year old Abe Lincoln.

Having seen the first one...you're not really going to be forced to watch the second. See, be happy!

So is someone gonna tie you to a chair and make you watch it 'Clockwork Orange' style ?

If the answer is no, then the news shouldn't affect your pretty little life one bit

Just ignore this thread, ignore the trailers, ignore the movie, simple!

National Treasure 2? With original cast returning? I'm in!

I found the first to be a fun, family-friendly, grown-up interesting, downright educational breath of fresh air.

I'm not sure what he said (probably something negative/against the concensus), but just let him go. It's beyond our controll.

Given the way it ended (with the microfiche, JFK thing), does anyone else sort of feel that these "National Treasure" movies are sort of sequels to "The Rock"?

dhmac 08-06-07 05:13 PM

I always compare the first National Treasure movie to The Da Vinci Code - the book, though, not the disappointing movie adaptation. (Before the movie version came out, how I would describe the book to people was by saying: "If you saw 'National Treasure' it's a lot like that.")

No, however I was thinking last night that it would be hilarious if the last line of the film is Cage saying, "Hey, do you want to know who killed JFK?"

Lastdaysofrain 12-10-07 12:49 PM

when "The President's Book of Secrets" got pulled out in the trailer I don't think I've ever laughed harder at a more stupid, sincere plot device. Amazingly dumb.

fernsita 12-10-07 04:14 PM

i actually this think movie is gonna be better than the first. its set in so many different locations and i feel like anywhere i turn i see national treasure stuff...i will be checkin this out on the big screen :)

agreed. that doesn't bode well for the quality of the story in this movie.

sauce07 12-11-07 09:00 AM

I never watched the first one, but I may have to now that i've heard the sequel is tracking higher than any other Bruckheimer film ever, including the POTC series.

fernsita 12-11-07 02:34 PM

haha, i dont know if there are any pirates of the Caribbean fans out here, but check out this spoof-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKNqdbDHshQ

i thought it was pretty funny...

mike2 12-11-07 09:38 PM

You'd figure they'd release National Treasure on dvd/bd before number 2. Throw in a free screening to 2 but i guess not. The dvd release is slated for summer.
