I wanted to post on the forum to ask about what happened to Luvlee, but then I saw someone else had posted about that.
Anyway, I just finished watching this movie after blind-buying it. I really enjoyed it. Sure, it didn't have a very complex plot, but the depth of the characters makes everything have greater emotional effect than if the characters were two dimensional. Particularly,
I was also pretty creeped out by the situation in that farmhouse, i.e. that it belongs to some old guy, but Gary and his gang occupy it while the owner is relegated to the upstairs.
All in all, highly recommended for at least a rental.

excellent movie. i blind bought it for like $9.99 awhile back and was not disappointed at all. very affecting. slow burn type of movie that draws you in and doesn't let go. great performances by all that made you care and want to stick with them and see where they all went.

man, i am rewatching this movie and it still is so good. JGL is such an incredible actor and with Inception on the cusp on big big things.
what a great story and even better acting, from Levitt to Goode, they are all spot on.
if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor.

This is a fantastic film. I got the DVD when it came out.
I've watched it multiple times and I like it more each time I see it.
JGL is his usual excellent - one of the best in American films right now. Daniels is good too as usual. But Matthew Goode was also really good in this, he brought it and got my attention. I was not familiar with him before I saw this, and I hope he continues to get better parts in the future.
Goode does seem to be making interesting career choices, and bringing strong performances to them. Well... except maybe 'Leap Year', not sure what happened there.

Glad to see Inception is finally getting people to check out one of the finest American crime films of the past 15 years.

What I love about JGL in this movie is that it is unbelievably hard to play a role like that and not accidentally make the audience laugh at how stupid you are being.

Thanks for the thread bump scott, I've got the Blu on the way now.
As well as it might expose someone to an excellent film they haven't seen.
'Brick' is also an excellent film. JGL is the example of an actor making consistently good film choices, being concerned more with the work than the 'business'. It's finally starting to pay off for him I think, as has already been mentioned.

I like Brick much more, its probably 1 of my 5 favorite films of the past decade, but I don't consider it a pure "crime" film the way The Lookout is. Plus, many hate it (especially the older audience) so I don't bother trying to recommend it to people. The Lookout is much easier for the mainstream pallet to digest so at least people are finally checking it out thanks to Inception.

It's a crime that-more-people-haven't-seen-the film.
I remember liking this movie, but somehow it ranks very low in my list for 2007. Maybe it's time to revisit it.

Just recommended Brick and The Lookout to a friend who was talking about JGL after Inception - and then I saw this thread bump. I'll have to watch them both again before I give them to him
