I remember driving down to Los Angeles for the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Seems like just yesterday.

yup me too. At the Stouffer Concourse hotel near LAX. My dad took me. I got Lando's autograph and then sw Lucas on stage live. after Vader w/J.E.Jones' voice introduced him. Even Gene Roddenberry showed up to wish Star Wars happy birthday.

Wow, 30 years... I remember watching Star Wars on the big screen in 1977, it was playing at Cinerama Theater (now turned to a car shop ). For the strange thing being 6 years old, I don't remember the movie that well. What I do remember was the long line to purchase the ticket that went around the block, ending back to the ticket window. And a separate line going the opposite direction to just get in.

This link has a link of openings, woo hoo, Cinerama was a 70mm theater! Star Wars 70mm openings And here is a link to the Cinerama theater, even though Waikiki 3 was my favorite theater. Cinerama theater

My mom let me catch the bus down and stand in line until my aunt and my cousins joined me. I was saddened to learn I couldn't catch Episode 1 at the theater when I was back there. And I have more memories of catching Jaws at the Waikiki #1 than I do of Star Wars. One of the last movies I saw at the Cinerama was BTiLC.
