The thing is that everybody that MAY have had a problem with this has already forgotten about it. Maybe you should think about letting it go as well.

There are countless instances of real injustices happening right now as we speak. Try walking out your front door and helping the bum sitting under the bridge or donate some money to help some disadvantaged children. You're obviously over-sensitive so I think you should use your over-sensitivity to actually help people that need it instead of going on and on about supposed injustices in a movie that nobody even cares about anymore.

Because culture is a time-sensitive consumer product that only has a limited shelf-life and a Movie Talk discussion group shouldn't be a place where people can discuss movies. Gotcha!

Got me how?

If you want to discuss the movie go right ahead. If you want to discuss the political ramifications of the movie there's a politcal subforum that might be a better place for you.

I don't dislike Frank Miller. I actually admire his script for Robocop 2, which showed a social conscience and a fine satirical bent.

You lost me right there. No one admires that script.

Where the caca hits the fan, unfortunately, is when a film is made from this graphic novel and this private vision of his actually offends people around the globe for its lack of sensitivity.

Now if you want offensive you should read his All Star Batman and Robin ... yeesh.

Great flick - suprised the hell out of me (I love it when I think a movie is going to be shit and ends up pleasing the hell out of me).

Complaints about the plot? I mean come on ladies and gents, yes it's lean on the plot goods but it's SUPPOSE to be. They give you enough!!!

I actually bought this flick - first one in a while and definitely a keeper. I can't find one thing I dislike about this film - It really entertained me.

I'm Greek and all I gotta say is that I do know the story of Thermopylae and I liked the movie. I did not find it insulting because it was a MOVIE that just happened to be based on actual events. I know that the Persians weren't Orc looking Demons and that in reality Xerxes was a benevolent ruler who allowed his conquered nations to govern themselves and the Persian Wars were actually caused by Athen's helping greek city-states rebel against Persia. But since this is movie talk, I don't want to get political and just say that the movie is just that, a movie. Enjoy it for what it is, a two hour fantasy film based on an historical event nothing more, nothing less. If Greek's want to be really outraged, we shoulda boycotted "My big fat Greek Wedding". Do you wanna know how many times I get asked about the damn Windex? Sheesh.
